Organic food is the fastest-growing sector of US agriculture

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: Organic food is the fastest-growing sector of US agriculture - true.
As more people realize that processed food is unhealthy and dangerous, they begin to buy organic foods because they are natural, safe, and healthy.
Answer 2
Answer: Organic food indeed is one of the fastest-growing sectors of US agriculture. The reason for this is that people prefer to eat food which has not been particularly tampered with as far as chemicals go and would like to eat different goods in their natural state.

Which of the following is used in photosynthesis by both plants and cyanobacteria?a) Water, sunlight, and carbon dioxide
b) Water
c) Sunlight
d) Carbon dioxide

Answers

Both plants and cyanobacteria use water, sunlight, and carbon dioxide in photosynthesis. The correct answer is "a".

Both plants and cyanobacteria utilize water, sunlight, and carbon dioxide in the process of photosynthesis.

Photosynthesis is the biochemical process by which organisms convert light energy into chemical energy in the form of glucose.

Water:

  • Both plants and cyanobacteria absorb water from their environment through their roots or cell surfaces.
  • Water molecules are split during photosynthesis, providing a source of electrons for the light-dependent reactions and releasing oxygen as a byproduct.

Sunlight:

  • Sunlight is essential for photosynthesis as it provides the energy necessary to power the process.
  • Chlorophyll, the pigment found in plants and cyanobacteria, captures light energy and initiates the series of chemical reactions involved in photosynthesis.

Carbon dioxide:

  • Plants and cyanobacteria take in carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through small openings called stomata or through their cell surfaces.
  • Carbon dioxide serves as the carbon source for the synthesis of organic molecules during photosynthesis.

Thus, the correct option is a.

Nitrogen fixation makes nitrogen gas useful to crops.

true or false

Answers

Answer:

True

Explanation:

The nitrogen fixation is a process that involves conversion of atmospheric nitrogen to nitrates in the soil. This process is mainly performed by nitrogen-fixing bacteria present in the soil.

The nitrogen fixation is important for plants and animals. The nitrogen present in the atmosphere cannot be used directly by animals and plants. The nitrogen is main constituent of chlorophyll that is required for the process of photosynthesis and for amino acids that synthesize proteins. Thus, Nitrogen fixation makes nitrogen gas useful to crops.

It is actually True!

Which statement correctly compares and contrasts the three stages of cellular respiration that occur in the presence of oxygen?

Answers

Cellular respiration is a cellular process in the metabolism of sugar components to produce metabolites such as lactic acid, acetic acid, aldehydes, and other components. It starts with the cleaving of the sugar component (6-carbon) to 3-carbon components until it becomes pyruvate

What cells in the stomach function to form enzymes and acids?

Answers

Chief cells produce pepsinogen, while parietal cells secrete hydrochloric acid (HCl) in the stomach for protein digestion.

Chief cells, located in the gastric glands of the stomach, release pepsinogen, an inactive precursor enzyme. Pepsinogen is converted to its active form, pepsin, by the acidic environment in the stomach. Pepsin plays a vital role in breaking down proteins during digestion. Parietal cells, also present in the gastric glands, are responsible for secreting hydrochloric acid (HCl).

This strong acid serves several crucial functions in the stomach. It activates pepsinogen to pepsin, facilitating protein digestion. Additionally, HCl creates the highly acidic environment necessary for pepsin's action and further protein breakdown. Moreover, the acidic conditions in the stomach help sterilize the contents, neutralize harmful microorganisms, and enable the absorption of certain nutrients.

Why do food chains in an ecosystem rarely contain more than five organisms?A. Nutrients are recycled by the decomposers back to the producers.
B. Nutrients are lost from the ecosystem when organisms die.
C. The conversion of food into growth by an organism is not very efficient.
D. Energy is recycled by the decomposers back to the producers.

Answers

There are no more than five species in an ecosystem due to the conversion of food into growth by an organism is not very efficient. Thus option C is correct.

What are food chain ?

The food chain is a linear cyclical event where the transfer of nutrient and energy occur from one organism to the other.

Trophic level is defined as the stages involve in food chain which start with producers, primary, secondary and tertiary consumers.

The major parts of food chain are the sun is the primary source of energy.

Secondly producers include autotrophs such as plants, phytoplankton, cyanobacteria represent  first tropic level in a food chain.

Consumers includes herbivores, the primary consumers which eat plants, carnivores are animals which eat other animals, parasites that live on other organisms, others are scavengers eat dead decaying matter.

Decomposers integral part of food chain get energy from dead or waste organic material.

Well as you move along a food chain, energy is lost due to excrement, growth, respiration, etc. So having a really long food chain would mean very few nutrients from the original plant would actually make it to the apex predator. From that knowledge, C looks like the answer. Nutrients definitely aren't lost from an ecosystem, and I don't see how recycling nutrients or energy would be a limiting factor on the length of a food chain, since it can happen at any point on it
