3 factors that led to industrialization

Answers

During the second half of the 19th century, a new wave of industrialization spread throughout the U.S. There were several factors spurring this technological movement on. First, several new technologies were developed and improved in rapid succession. Railroads, steam engines, telegraph lines and the internal combustion engine all became more readily available. More and more Americans found themselves depending on industrial technologies for communication, economic and social activities.

Another factor that led to the industrialization of the 1900’s was the Reconstruction Era. As northern companies worked to rebuild southern infrastructure, they also began industrializing where there had once been no industry. For many southerners, the vision of the “New South” included a local industrial base that would help it compete with northern interests and make it more self-reliant.

This industrialization of the south also continued out west. As American spread towards the Pacific, western towns began installing communication and economic technologies which kept the shrinking frontier connected to the east. Rail and telegraph lines were the most common, but there was also a demand for dynamos, furnaces and other necessities which helped modernize the west.

What was the main concern with the first draft of the Articles of Confederation?A. Too much power in the central government
B. Too much power in the state governments
C. Too little power for the courts
D. A too small legislature

Answers

The correct answer is B) too much power in the state governments.

The Articles of Confederation was America's first attempt at a Constitution. Considering their negative experience with King George III and a large central government, the writers of the Articles of Confederation made it so that the US gave almost all the power to state governments.

This idea ended up working out terribly. The federal government could not collect taxes, could not establish a national currency (aka money), and struggled to build a militia. This was all because state governments had the ability to ignore the wishes of the federal government. The Articles of Confederation were replaced with our current US Constitution after about a decade.

There were few issues related to first draft of Articles of Confederation such as it gave too much power in the central government and too little power for the courts.

Further Explanation:

The Articles of Confederation was the agreement within the 13 States of USA which were part of the first constitution. Once all 13 states gave their approval in regards to The Articles of Confederation, it was implemented and it came into force 1781. The farmers of the constitution thought that it was important to have a national judiciary. This article clearly showed that there was distrust among the people of United States of America in regards to a strong central government within the country which takes all the actions and makes all the laws for the welfare of the country and it was the start of ‘American Revolution” another issue which these Articles had was the lack of judiciary became problem as there were issues between states and they always stood against each other in courts as if one verdict came in a case against one state then that state would not accept that verdict. This problem was seen by the people who made the constitution and wanted to make all states to work with each other, Articles of Confederation needed to be changed or scrapped completely which was lastly done. Articles of Confederation lasted for period of 8 years and were replaced by the current constitution of United States in year 1789.

What did the the Wilmot proviso state?

Answers

The Wilmot proviso states that slavery must be eliminated from the land that has been acquired from the result of the Mexican War. The Wilmot proviso was an American law that bans slavery to the acquired parts of the Mexico after the war and lead to the American Civil War.

Answer:

The Wilmot Proviso stated that slavery should be prohibited in territories acquired after the Mexican-American War.

Explanation:

In 1846, Congressman David Wilmot of Pennsylvania introduced the proviso as an amendment to an appropriations bill in connection with the peace treaty being negotiated with Mexico.  His amendment stipulated that any territory gained from Mexico would be free, not allowing slavery.  Wilmot's amendment passed in the House of Representatives, but was unable to get approval in the Senate.

Wilmot's reason for his proposal was not because he was defending the cause of blacks or seeking to outlaw slavery. In a speech he delivered in the House of Representatives in 1847, Wilmot said: "I make no war upon the South nor upon slavery in the South. I have no squeamish sensitiveness upon the subject of slavery, nor morbid sympathy for the slave. I plead the cause of the rights of white freemen. I would preserve for free white labor a fair country, a rich inheritance, where the sons of toil, of my own race and own color, can live without the disgrace which association with Negro slavery brings upon free labor."
