Why are some samples stained before viewing them?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: With DNA and small samples of organisms they are often transparent or very difficult to see. When you are viewing samples with a microscope the samples are so small that they are near about invisible to see as they are about half a micrometer thick or at times even smaller. The sample is placed in paraphin or epoxy, allowed to harden and then cut by a glass or crystal knife. The samples are then stained and placed under a microscope for viewing. The staining process can produce brilliant and beautiful designs from the crosssamples of these organisms.
Answer 2
Answer: Some samples are transparent, or very difficult to see, therefore, they are stained in order to be seen more clearly and easier to work with.

During eye surgery, the clear layer of the eye is stained to be easily extracted, if it was clear then the surgeon might cut the eye instead of just the layer.

(a) It is possible to measure a patient’s heart rate by either palpating their peripheral pulse, by observing their ECG, or by listening for the lub-dup through a stethoscope. However, patients with atherosclerosis of the femoral artery may not have a pulse in the popliteal artery or dorsalis pedis of the foot. Does this mean that they will also lack a heart beat (lub-dup) or QRS complex? Explain the relationship between a heart beat, pulse, and QRS complex. A liver cell requires energy to move vitamins from an area of low concentration, across the cell membrane, to an area of high concentration. The process used by the liver cell is called A) osmosis. B) active transport. C) passive transport. D) facilitated diffusion.

Answers

The correct answer is Active transport.

The transportation of molecules against the concentration gradient from the area of its low concentration to high concentration is called Active Transport. The molecular size of vitamins are large so,  it is not easy to transport them against the concentration gradient without the help of energy. This energy is in the form of ATP.

Thus, liver uses Active Transport to move vitamins from one area to another area.

Alright it is going from a low concentration to a higher concentration.... ACTIVE TRANSPORT is correct . :)

b. formation of chromosomes from DNA
c. many types of Aryan genes
d. passing of traits from parents to children

Answers

Hereditary refers to a passing of traits from parent to children. When you say heredited it means that something from their parents are passed to their children, may it be th physical appearance, emotional characteristics and in many more aspects.

Answer: The correct answer for the fill in the blank is D) Passing of traits from parents to children.

Heredity can be defined as the passing of traits from one generation to the next generation. These traits can be the mental or physical characteristics of the parent. The traits are passed to the offsprings in the form of genetic material, which is DNA ( deoxyribonucleic acid) in most of the life forms.

Example- The genes ( segment of DNA, which code for specific proteins) for green eyes are passed from parent to child. This gives green eye color to the child.

Thus, the correct answer is Heredity refers to the passing of traits from parents to children
