you apply the same amount of heat to five grams of substance a and five grams of substance b. the temperature of both substances increases by the same amount. what can you conclude?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: From the given statement, it can be concluded that both substance a and substance b has the same heat capacity or thermal capacity. It can also be possible that both the substances are same and so their heat capacity or thermal capacity is also same. Thermal capacity of any substance is amount of energy that is required to raise the temperature of the substance through a specific range. Under normal circumstances this range varies from substance to substance based on the type.

Answer 2
Answer:

(plato answer) The heat capacity of substance A is equal to the heat capacity of substance B.

The function of a capacitor in an electric circuit is to?A. measure the amount of current in the circuit.
B. increase circuit power
.
C. allow current flow between its plates.
D. store electric charges.

Answers

Well let's see:

A). No.  A capacitor doesn't measure anything.

B). No.  The power delivered to the circuit is determined by
              the battery or power supply and all the things in
              the circuit that dissipate energy.  A capacitor doesn't
              do any of these things.

C). No.  If any current actually flows between its plates,
             the capacitor is shot and can't do its job, and
             must be replaced.

D). Yes. A capacitor stores charges on its plates, and
              electrical energy in the field between its plates.

Answer:

D. Stores electric charges

A car moving with a velocity of 20 meters/second has1.8 * 105 joules of kinetic energy. What is the mass of the car?

Answers

Kinetic energy is the product of mass and the square of the velocity of the moving object. In this case, we substitute the given data, that is 1.8 x10^5 joules = m * (20 m/s2)^2. Extracting the mass, the mass of the car therefore is equal to 450 kg

Explanation :

Given that,

Velocity of the car, v = 20 m/s

Kinetic energy of the car, E_k=1.8* 10^5\ J

Kinetic energy is given by :

E_k=(1)/(2)mv^2

m=(2E_k)/(v^2)

So, m=(2* 1.8* 10^5\ J )/((20\ m/s)^2)

m = 900 kg

Hence, the mass of the car is 900 kg

How has the model of our solar system changed over time?

Answers

It depends.Ptolemy was one of the most famous astronomers who was convinced that or solar system was geocentric, or revolving around the earth. Then, Copernicus came around, along with Galileo, and the attempted to convince people that that wasn't true, but that we were revolving around the sun. In fact, if you're writing an essay, a good point to add would be that Galileo spent a large part of his life imprisoned for "disobedience of the (Roman) Gods.)"

It always depends of how our solar system changed over time.

Calculate the maximum kinetic energy of photoelectrons emitted from this plate when light of wavelength (λ) 520nm is directed at the metal surface.Work function (Ф) of the plate = 1.1 × 10⁻¹⁹ J
Planck's constant (h) = 6.63 × 10⁻³⁴ Js
Frequency (f) = c ÷ λ
c = speed light in vacuum = 3.00 × 10⁸ms⁻¹
Ekmax = hf - Φ

Wavelength must be in metres, so it'll be 590×10⁻⁹

I've worked this out and gotten two different answers so I thought I'd check to see which one is right.

Answers

Well for a start, 520nm is 520 nanometres and for some reason you've called it 590 x10^-9 (590 isn't standard form) where it's actually 5.2 ×10^-7 metres.
Put that into the equations:

f = c/λ = 3.0 x10^8/5.2 ×10^-7 = 5.77 x10^14 (3 s.f.)
(5.77 x10^14) x (6.63 x10^-34) - (1.1 x10^-19) =
2.73 x10^-19 J

According to Newton's Third Law of Motion, what happens when two objects of unequal masses collide? A.
The object with the larger mass will have greater damage.

B.
The object with the smaller mass will continue forward due to inertia.

C.
They will push away from each other in proportion to their masses.

D.
They will both make a sudden stop.

Answers

Newton's third law is that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Damage is not a part of physics, at least I don't think it is.
Is just downright wrong. If anything, the smaller mass will be pushed forward with the heavier mass.
C Sounds correct
D It'
s wrong, because the masses are not equal, or else they would stop.
