John Brown stirred up a lot of controversy with his attack on Harpers Ferry in Virginia.
Explanation:
On October 16, 1859, supported by North abolitionists, Brown planned to create liberated zones for African American slaves in the hills of the western part of Virginia and with 20 of his followers he assaulted and took the federal arsenal of Harpers Ferry (present West Virginia) and took control of the city. His group was surrounded by an Army company under the command of Colonel Robert E. Lee. He was arrested and charged with treason and murder, executed on December 2, 1859, in Charles Town, West Virginia (then Virginia).

B- The Romans could easily move into regions north of Italy.
C- There were no forests around Rome, so it was easy to build roads.
D- The Mediterranean Sea allowed Romans to trade with other countries.
The correct option is D. The Mediterranean Sea allowed Romans to trade with other countries.
The Mediterranean Sea was vital for merchants and travelers of ancient times because it allowed for easy trade and exchange of cultures and their beliefs.
The Romans imported a wide range of materials: beef, corn, glassware, iron, lead, leather, marble, olive oil, perfumes, purple dye, silk, silver, spices, timber, tin and wine. The principal trading partners were in Spain, France, the Middle East and North Africa. Britain exported lead, woollen products and tin.
The two advantages of Rome's location that allowed it to grow as a republic were: The surrounding hills acted as a barrier against invasions and the Mediterranean Sea allowed Romans to trade with other countries. The correct option is A and D.
Rome was located on seven hills, which provided natural defensive advantages. The hilly terrain made it more challenging for invading armies to approach the city, offering a natural barrier for its defense.
Rome's location near the Mediterranean Sea was strategically advantageous for trade and communication. The sea provided access to maritime trade routes, allowing Rome to engage in commerce with other regions and civilizations.
Thus, the ideal selection is option A and D.

Explanation:
colonization benefited imperialist nations to support your claims with evidence.
Step 2: Write a one paragraph editorial that rejects imperialism in China.
Consider the claims made in your first editorial supporting imperialism and use evidence from the lesson to counter them.
Both editorials must:
be at least one paragraph with at least six sentences, including introduction and conclusion sentences
express one side of the issue (support or against)
use specific examples from the lesson for support
On the other hand, I reject imperialism in China. European nations are competing against each other to colonize and control less developed parts of the world, therefore I disagree of the idea of China colonizing. This a race to control more land than another country so why support another country entering this “race” making it more difficult to get ahead. If China was to colonize, their status and pride would boost, increasing their power as a nation altogether. This would not be good for other European nations and no good can come out of this. China mustn’t colonize or adapt to imperialism.
In an increasingly interconnected world, the adoption of imperialistic policies could bolster China's economy, enhance its global influence, and promote stability within its borders.
By expanding its sphere of influence and engaging in strategic alliances, China can tap into new markets, secure vital resources, and drive economic growth, all while projecting its values and safeguarding its national interests.
A well-managed imperialistic approach can serve as a catalyst for progress, promoting cultural exchange, technological advancements, and social development. Though the concept is not without its challenges, a pragmatic analysis reveals that embracing imperialism may offer China an avenue to secure its future prosperity and secure its place on the global stage.
