Great Depression.
In the 1930s, the US and the world experienced a terrible economic depression, which began with the crash of the New York Stock Exchange in 1929.
The causes of the Great Depression were the overproduction and expansion of credit through the banks, which generated a downfall in the economy. The Great Depression caused a drop in GDP, a huge increase in unemployment rates and still caused inflation.
The Great Depression was superseded by President Franklin Rooseveld's New Deal, an emergency economic plan that was based on the economics of economist John Keynes.

Progressive Republicans convened in Chicago approved the formation of a progressive national party. When formally launched after the summer, the new Progressive Party chose Theodore Roosevelt as its presidential candidate and Hiram Johnson as his running mate. Asked by reporters, Roosevelt said he felt as strong as a "moose." From now on known as the "Moose Party", progressives have promised to increase federal regulation and protect the well-being of ordinary people.
Eisenhower entered the presidential race as a Republican candidate in 1952 and promised a crusade against "communism, Korea and corruption." He defeated Adlai Stevenson by ending two decades of Democratic governments.

James Earl Carter Jr. is a former US Democrat and military politician who served as the 39th president of the United States from 1977 to 1981. Coming from a traditional Southern rancher family, Carter served as an officer of the United States Navy and then entered politics, serving two terms as a Georgia state senator and one as governor (1971-1975) before running for president in 1976.
Henry Ross Perot is a businessman from Texas, known for having run for office twice in the United States in 1992 and 1996. He created the United We Stand Party to run his presidential campaign in 1992.
