If an orange is orange, why isn't a lime called a green or a lemon called a yellow?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: A lime is called a lime because it's lime in colour and a lemon is called lemon because it's lemon in colour. Just to change the subject slightly why is a fly called a fly? - because it flies - so if a fly didn't have wings would it be called a walk. We could go on and on with this couldn't we and have a lot of fun too :)

Iron is a solid, grey metal. Oxygen is a colorless gas. When iron and oxygen chemically combine , rust is made. Rust has a reddish brown color. Why does rust differ from iron and oxygen?

Answers

Because the formation of rust is a kind of chemistry reaction.
After chemistry reaction, compound with new properties is produced.
Of course, color is one of the new properties.
For example, if you put iron in colorless acid solution, a green solution is made.
This kind of chemisty reaction differs from physical reaction, for example, pigment with one color dissolves in liquid, a liquid with same color is made.

What happens to an electromagnetic wave as it passes from space to matter

Answers

In an electromagnetic spectrum, when an electromagnetic wave passes from space to matter, some part of the energy is absorbed by the matter and it increases its energy.

What is electromagnetic spectrum?

The electromagnetic radiation consists of waves made up of electromagnetic field which are capable of propogating through space and carry the radiant electromagnetic energy.

The radiation are composed of electromagnetic waves which are synchronized oscillations of electric and magnetic fields . They are created due to change which is periodic in electric as well as magnetic fields.

In vacuum ,all the electromagnetic waves travel at the same speed that is with the speed of air.The position of an electromagnetic wave in an electromagnetic spectrum is characterized by it's frequency or wavelength. They are emitted by electrically charged particles which undergo acceleration and subsequently interact with other charged particles.

When an electromagnetic wave passes from space to matter, some part of the energy is absorbed by the matter and it increases its energy. The wave may reflect and some part may pass through the matter depending on the amount of energy they have. The amplitude of the wave decreases if some parts of it are reflected.

Why does tying the arm above the elbow make veins in the forearm more visible?

Answers

The tying results in the more visible veins of upper arms due to blood flow restriction.

Veins are the part of circulatory system in the body, that functions to carry deoxygenated blood from different parts of the body to the heart.

The venipuncture has been the process of insertion of drugs or chemicals in a body through vein. The veins of the upper arm has been tied to make them more visible.

The upper arm veins are more visible as there has been blood flow restriction in the veins by tying that results in the bulging out of the vein.
