Answer 1
Answer: Okay, this is really easy:) He goes 3/8 miles and 1 and 3/8 miles. to add this together you just go across the top. Discard the 1 for a couple of seconds. so you have 3/8 + 3/8. Now go across the top so you get 6/8. simplify that, (divide by a common number, don't know if you know that or not) so, 2 in this case. you get 3/4. Your answer is 1 and 3/4. Hope this helps and isn't ridiculously confusing:)
Answer 2
Answer: Simple....

you have (3)/(8) and 1 (3)/(8)

It's asking you how much Bobbi skated altogether.

So...just add...

to make it easy...see this way...

1 (3)/(8)
+
  (3)/(8)

You can see it's just (3)/(8) + (3)/(8)

=(6)/(8)

Simplifying it...

=(3)/(4)

Thus, your answer... 1 (3)/(4)

marge cut 16 pieces of tape for mounting pictures on poster board. each piece of tape was 3/8 inch long. how much tape did marge use?

Answers

Answer:

Total tape used by marge is 6 inches .

Step-by-step explanation:

As given

marge cut 16 pieces of tape for mounting pictures on poster board.

Each\ piece\ of\ tape\ was\ (3)/(8)\ inch\ long.

Total tape marge uses = Number of pieces × Each piece length

Total\ tape\ marge\ uses = (16* 3)/(8)

Total tape marge uses = 2 × 3

                                      = 6 inches

Therefore the total tape used by marge is 6 inches .

6 inches long. I used the formula 16 multiplied by 3/8.

Tanyas boyfriend gave her a box of chocolates for valentines day. 3/4 of the chocolates were milk chocolate. 1/8 of them were white chocolate and the rest were dark chocolate. how many dark chocolate were in the box if there were a total of 16 chocolates in all?

Answers

3/4 of 16 is 12.

16-12=4

1/8 of 16 is 2.

12 of them are milk, 2 of them are white. If you know how many are white, the amount for the other is obvious because it's the same fraction.

2 are dark chocolate

W what is 7 divided by 3

Answers

Depends on how you want to express it. In fraction form, it is 7/3. However, in decimal form (that is probably what you want to use), it is 2.33
7 divided by 3 = 3.5

The ways to check this is
multiply.......3.5 + 3.5 = 7
