Lisa built a rectangular flower garden that is 4 feet wide and has a perimeter of 26 feet.What is the length of Lisa's flower garden?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: Perimeter is l+l+w+w,  or l*2+w*2.  We know the width is 4 feet.  26=4*2+l*2
So first,  find what 4*2 equals.  The answer is 8.  So subtract 8 from both sides.  4*2 Cancels out,  and 26 changes to 18.  Then,  divide both sides by 2.  The (*2) gets cancelled and 18 becomes 9.   The length is 9 FEET.

jenny wants to buy cereal that comes In large and small boxes. the 32-ounce box costs $4.16 and the 14-ounce box costs $2.38. which box is less expensive ? explain

Answers

The 32-ounce box is less expensive because it's only 0.13 cents per ounce (4.16 divided by 32) where as the 14 ounce box is 0.17 cents per ounce (2.38 divided by 14).

Hope this helps!
32 divided by 4.16 equals 7.70
14 divided by 2.38 equals 5.88
Therefore the 14 ounce is less expensive

amber invested 25000 at 2% for 3 years compound simiannually.Find future value at the end of 3 years?

Answers

Use the compound interest formula:

A = P(1+r/n)^(nt). Here, P = $25000, r = 0.02, t = 3 and n = 2.

Then:

A = $25000(1 + 0.02/2)^(3*2)

= $25000(1.01)^6

= $26538.00 (future value at the end of 3 years)

First you use the compound interest formula which is: A = P(1+r/n)^(nt).

Plug in the number in this case being P = $25000, r = 0.02, t = 3 and n = 2.

A = $25000(1 + 0.02/2)^(3*2)

= $25000(1.01)^6

= $26538.00 (future value at the end of 3 years)

Twenty-six students will attend the field trip to the career center. The cost to attend the career center is $x. Fifteen of these students will pay an additional $3 to attend the automotive class. Which expression represents the total cost?
( F )
15(x + 3) + 26x

( G ) 26(x + 3)

( H ) 26(x + 3) + 15x

( I ) 15(x + 3) + 11x

Answers

Answer=I

15(x+3)+11x    represents the total cost

To solve for this, let's look at the information that we know...

26 students go on the trip

15 students pay $3 more for an additional class (x+3)

26-15=11

11students pay, x, the price of the trip.

So 15(x+3) represents the 15 students who pay for both the trip and the automotive class, and 11x represents the students who simply just pay for the cost of the trip.

Thus, 15(x+3)+11x represents the scenario

A pet shop has 96 pounds of dog food. It packages the food in 48-ounce bags. How many bags will the pet shop need to package all the dog food?

Answers

A pet shop has 96 pounds of dog food. It packages the food in 48-ounce bags.

Quantity of dog food pet shop has = 96 pounds.

Quantity of dog food in one bag = 48 ounces.

So in order to find number of bags we have to first convert them into similar units.

Let us convert pounds into ounces.

The conversion rate is:

1 pound = 16 ounces

Now we apply unitary method to convert 96 pounds into ounces.

1 pound =16 ounces

96 pounds = 96*16 = 1536 ounces.

So if one bag contains 48 ounces ,

then number of bags = 1536/48 = 32

Answer : Number of 48 ounce bags required to fill 96 pounds of dog food is 32.

48 ounces = 3 pounds. So 96 divide by 3 is 32. 32 bags.

How many lines of symmetry does and arrow have

Answers

The number of lines of symmetry that an arrow has is determined to be: just one line.

What is a line of symmetry?

A line of symmetry is an imaginary line that divides a shape into two congruent or mirror-image halves, where each half is a reflection of the other.

Arrows generally possess a single line of symmetry, an imaginary division that splits the arrow into two symmetrical halves which align perfectly when one half is reflected across the line, often vertically down the center, resulting in mirror image left and right halves.
