What is the persistent fear of snow falling

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: Chionophobia is the extreme dislike or fear of snow.

The word originates from Greek 'chion' meaning snow and 'phobos'
meaning fear, aversion or dread. People with Chionophobia often
understand that their fear is unfounded and weird. However, they
are unable to control it.

Another contributor was the first to answer the question correctly, and in fact,
I learned the answer from that earlier post.  If I could only remember who it was,
I would give them a big shout-out.  Their answer was deleted by a moderator
because it didn't have an explanation with it.

If gravity did not affect the pain of a horizontally thrown ball the ball would

Answers

If gravity had no effect on a ball after you threw it ... and there also
were no air to slow it down ... then the ball would continue traveling
in a straight line, in whatever direction you threw it.

That's the heart and soul of Newton's laws of motion ... any object
keeps moving at the same speed, and in a straight line in the same
direction, until a force acts on it to change its speed or direction.\

If you threw the ball horizontally, then it would keep moving in the
same direction you threw it.  But don't forget:  The Earth is not flat.
The Earth is a sphere.  So, as the ball kept going farther and farther
in the same straight line, the Earth would curve away from it, and it
would look like the ball is getting farther and farther from the ground.

If gravity did not affect a horizontally thrown ball, the ball would continue along its horizontal path indefinitely (assuming it is thrown in a vacuum so no other forces are acting on it).

What is the motion of a body when only the force of gravity is acting on it

Answers

When only the force of gravity acts on an object,
the situation is called "free fall".

The motion is uniformly accelerated.  The object falls
straight toward the center of the other object in whose
gravity it shares, and its speed increases at a constant
rate.

When this happens on or near the surface of the Earth,
the rate is (9.8 meters per second greater) for each
second of falling.

True free-fall is never observed in daily life.  Whenever
we see an object falling, it is always falling through air,
which counteracts the force of gravity to a greater or
lesser degree, depending on the object's size, shape,
weight, surface texture, and speed through the air.

When used as an energy source in a nuclear power plant, uranium is burned in a similar way as one would burn wood or coal for energy. a. True
b. False

Answers

False because nuclear fission is used on uranium in nuclear power station and this reaction is continuous since a neutron hits a uranium atom and splits it. Then 2-3 neutrons are released which continues the cycle or hitting other uranium atoms. If this reaction isn't contained, it could get out of control and become a nuclear bomb. So it can't be burned like wood nor coal.

An American manufacturer supplied a customer with refrigerators with electrical cords that were one yard long instead of 1 meter long. What was the difference in cord length (cm)?a. 0.856 cmb. 85.6 cmc. 8.56 cmd. 0.00856 cme. 856 cm

Answers

Answer:

C. 8.56cm

Explanation:

Since we are to get the difference of cord length in centimeter, there fore we will have to convert the one yard and one metre length of wires to centimeters.

For 1m length of cord

1m = 100cm

For 1yard length of cord

1yard = 91.44cm

Difference in cord length = 100cm - 91.44cm

= 8.56cm

Answer:

C.

Explanation:

A meter is 8.56 centimeters longer than a yard. Something to keep in mind is that a meter is about 10% longer than a yard.

Hope this helps :)

How does crater density relate to the moon’s geologic history?

Answers

The crater density related to the moon's geologic history through its crater on the surface. The greater density it has, the older the surface must be. This means that the crater can actually determine how old its geologic history must be.

Answer:

High crater density is associated with older surfaces.
