Study the Problem
What is the cost of the wallpaper (in dollars per square foot)?
Organize the Facts
The wallpaper covers a rectangle 42 ft by 25.5 ft. It costs $771.12 for that area.
Make a Plan
To find dollars per square foot, we need to divide the dollar amount by the area in square feet. The area needs to be computed. It is the area of a rectangle, so can be found by multiplying length and width.
Plan: multiply length and width of the wall to find its area; divide the cost by that area to find dollars per square foot.
Execute the Plan
area = (42 ft)×(25.5 ft) = 1071 ft²
cost/area = $771.12/(1071 ft²) = $0.72/ft²
Examine the Results
The area is on the order of 40×25 = 1000 ft², and the cost is less than $1000, so the cost will be less than $1 per square foot. The answer is in the right ballpark. If we multiply it out, we should get the given cost:
... 0.72×42×25.5 = 771.12 . . . . agrees with given cost.
The cost of the wallpaper is $0.72 per square foot.
What is the minimum height of the driftwood in the storm? __________ ft.

x/2 + x + x/3 = 8
Simplify both sides of the equation
x/2 + x +x/3 = 8
Simplify
11/6 x = 8
Multiply both sides by 6/11
(6/11)*(11/6 x ) = (6/11)*(8)
x = 48 / 11
decimal will be x = 4.36
-7(x-1)-3(x-4)
Distribute
(-7)(x)+(-7)(-1)+(-3)(x)+(-3)(-4)
= -7x+7+ -3x +12
Combine like terms
-7x+7+ -3x+12
= (-7x+ -3x ) + ( 7+12)
= -10x + 19
3(x-2)^2 -5(x-2)+3
Distribute
= 3x^2 + -12x+12+(-5)(x)+(-5)(-2)+3
= 3x^2 +-12x+12+ -5x +10 +3
Combine like terms
3x^2 + -12x+12+ - 5x+10 +3
(3x^2) + (-12x+ -5x ) + (12+10+3)
= 3x^2 + -17x + 25
= 3x^2 -17x+25
I hope that's help ! Please if you have question about all 3 just let me know .
Elke spent 33 minutes on weights, which is 1/5 hour less than the time she spent on exercise bikes.
The question is about calculating the time Elke spent on weights at her health club. She spent 3/4 hour on exercise bikes and 1/5 hour less than that on the weights.
So, Elke spent 33 minutes on weights.

It's not as complicated as you think. The smaller rectangle is 3ft with a width of 5ft. It's asking what the length of the larger canvas is if the width is 10ft. So you pretty much just do 10/5 which is 2 then you multiply 3ft by 2 and you get 6ft.
If you need any help just ask :)
