What process is responsible for creating magnetic changes along mid-ocean ridges? A. Ridge push B. Slab pull C. Seafloor spreading D. Reversal of Earth's magnetic field

Answers

Answer:

D. Reversal of Earth's magnetic field

Explanation:

The earth's magnetic field changes over time and this causes changes in the direction of magnetization of magnetic elements or minerals in rocks.

Our magnetic field is widely believed to originate from activities within the outer core where molten iron and nickel moves. The flow of these molten elements results in the production of the magnetic signatures on earth surface.

Some elements and minerals within rocks are capable of recording the direction of magnetic fields at a period in time. Before magma cools, such minerals in these rocks aligns their poles to that of the prevailing direction of the earths magnetic field. This is how the magnetic changes at the mid-oceanic ridges are recorded.

Answer:

The process of seafloor spreading is responsible for "creating magnetic changes" along mid-ocean ridges.

Explanation:

  • When "seafloor spreading" occurs along the mid-oceanic ridges, it results in a drastic splitting of the oceanic floor over a large area.
  • This in return changes the orientation of the predominant magnetic fields and the intensity of their strength in the region.
  • The mid-oceanic ridges are majorly constituted of solidified lava which is rich in iron.
  • The changes that occur in the local magnetic fields due to seafloor spreading thus create magnetic changes along the mid-oceanic ridges.

What are the three most important reasons humans have not done a very good job in looking after the environment.

Well one of them I just learned about this, is that there is radioactive waste caused by the Hanford program. Since apparently there was one that started leaking that contains the most toxic radioactive waste in the container. So one is the creation of atomic or nuclear bombs waste and how it could pollute the rivers, at Hanford, if it escapes the container then the waste will travel through the underground water to the Columbia River. Two, Urban air pollution, this is combustion of fossil fuels, vehicle engines, industrial production, and burning off biomass. Three, surface water pollution, this happens when waste substances get disposed of or transported to bodies of water.

What is summer school and what do they do there??I am afraid I might have to go to summer school cause my grade are low... bujt ive never had low grades except fo this year and I don't know what to suspect :/

Answers

I'm sorry nobody has told you about it yet. They should. You're scared of something just because you don't know what's in there or what it looks like. Summer school is a chance to improve your grades, because it's a class where they teach the same subjects again, so you can review it and learn it a little better than you did the first time. The only difference is that they go a little faster, because the summer is shorter than the regular school year. And that's the whole story. There's nothing to be afraid of. When I went to Summer school a few years ago, I loved it. I started to understand stuff that I didn't understand very well the first time, and I really improved my grade. Good luck.
What the guy above said....but at my school it is where the troublemakers go and the teachers are usually annoyed all the time

Please only answer if you know the correct answer. How do green cities reduce water pollution?

Answers

Green infrastructure also improves the quality of water drawn from rivers and lakes for drinking, which reduces the costs associated with purification and treatment—in some cases by more than 25 percent. And green roofs can cut heating and cooling costs, leading to energy savings of as much as 15 percent.

Which of the following statements is true? The sun is hotter than a B2 star.
Apparent magnitude does not consider distance.
A light-year is the speed at which light travels from the sun to Earth.
Planets sometimes look brighter than stars because of reflected light from the sun.

Answers

I think the correct statement is "Planets sometimes look brighter than stars because of reflected light from the sun." The stars make their own light but planets don't. The light we see is due to their reflection of the light from the sun which is also the case for our moon lighting up during the night.

Why do you think it is so difficult for some people to accept the idea of continental drift?

Answers

I think it is difficult for some people to accept the idea of continental drift because they have a fear that it will cause them to die, which is most likely to happen if a continental drift occurs.
