Scientists who rely on creativity also tend to be persistent when they pursue a research goal. How might persistence be an advantage for a creative scientist?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: Persistence is important to all individuals in any walks of life. Scientists are not the exception for having this trait. Creativity can be taught but persistence is an attitude. Doing something continuously, efficiently and timely and not be mindful to critics is a great trait for scientists because in the world of discovering things, people always racing for the first discovery or invention. No one was ever credited for being the second, however, people were credited for correcting things thought to be generalized facts in the ancient times so persistence amidst failures has been key for the success of scientists.

During  process of digestion which takes place in digestive tract statement which describes role of glucagon and insulin is glucagon was secreted by  pancreas before he ate the cookies because his blood glucose was low. Insulin was secreted after he ate cookies because his blood glucose was high.

What is digestive tract?

It consists of the gastrointestinal tract along with the accessory organs which are present in digestion process . It involves the breakdown of complex food into smaller components which can be easily assimilated and absorbed by the body.

The digestion process has 3 phases: cephalic phase , gastric phase and intestinal phase.Cephalic phase begins with secretion of gastric juices from gastric glands in response to sight and smell of food.It involves chewing and chemical breakdown of food by the action of digestive enzymes ,saliva in the mouth contain enzymes like lipase and amylase which are secreted by the salivary and serous glands present on the tongue.

Answer: Option A) Glucagon was secreted by his pancreas before he ate the cookies because blood glucose was low. Insulin was secreted after he ate the cookies because his blood glucose was high.

Explanation:When Kai was hungry and his blood glucose level was decreasing, glucagon is the hormone which was secreted by the islets of pancreas to increase the blood sugar levels in his body. Glucagon forces the liver to release the stored glucose in it, which increases the blood glucose level in the body. When Kai ate the sugar cookies there was enough of blood glucose available for his body, also it exceeded the requirement and went high. Insulin was then secreted to control this excess glucose from the islets of pancreas. As it helps the body cells to absorb the glucose and lowers the amount of glucose in the blood. It makes the cell available with the glucose to produce energy and perform their activities.

In short, glucagon and insulin both are secreted by the same organ which is islets of pancreas. But they differ in their function, glucagon increases the blood glucose when the body needs it, whereas insulin helps to absorb the excessive glucose and stores that in the body. Both are the hormones which help in regulating the body glucose levels.

A cell is in a solution with the simple sugar glucose. The concentration of glucose outside the cell is 30%, and the concentration of glucose inside the cell is 20%. Do the following for this cell:
A)a hypotonic solution; into the cell
B)a isotonic solution; neither in nor out of the cell
C)a hypertonic solution; into the cell
D) a hypertonic solution; out of the cell

Answers

The answer is c, hypertonic solution, into the cell.

B)a isotonic solution; neither in nor out of the cell

Which of the following best describes the difference between mitosis or M phase and cytokinesis?

Answers

Mitosis is the nuclear division of a cell; cytokinesis is its cytoplasmic division.

Final answer:

Mitosis or M phase involves the division of the nucleus, while cytokinesis involves the division of the cytoplasm.

Explanation:

Mitosis or M phase is the process by which a cell divides into two identical daughter cells, while cytokinesis is the final stage of cell division where the cytoplasm of the parent cell is divided into two separate cells.

So, the main difference between mitosis or M phase and cytokinesis is that mitosis involves the division of the nucleus, while cytokinesis involves the division of the cytoplasm.

During mitosis, the DNA in the nucleus is replicated and then divided equally between the two daughter cells. This is followed by cytokinesis, where a contractile ring forms and pinches the cytoplasm in two, creating two separate cells.

Therefore, mitosis and cytokinesis are separate but coordinated processes that together result in the division of cells during cell division.

When measuring the length of an earthworm, which graduation would allow for the most accurate measurement?

Answers

Answer:

A Ruler scale

Explanation:

Graduation refers to the tool that measures the length of any particular object. It contains a mark that points to the exact value on a visible scale. These are the linear scales frequently used and they are both straight as well as curved. The units are usually in inches, millimeters, and centimeters.

The ruler scale is often used to measure the length of an earthworm because it gives the most accurate measurement.

I would chose centimeter because it is the smallest and most precise of the measurements! :)
