Which is worse: a) pollution b) consumerism c) discrimination d) terrorists Please explain why.

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: I would say that discrimination is the worst. My reasoning behind that is because it can break a nation completely. By discriminating religions and races, you can only except madness and chaos to be in effect. People are all the same, so they deserve to be treated equally. I hate to see people being leftout, even in cases of money. That is why discrimination is disgusting in my view.
Answer 2
Answer: this question is a matter of opinion but I would say out of pollution, consumerism, discrimination, terrorism the worst is discrimination because it is a way in which humanity divides itself based on irrational things such as the color of someone's skin, the religious and/or ethnical background, gender, or simply because of different opinions.

Quotes about morals in “To Kill a mockingbird”

These are the times that try men’s souls: The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it NOW, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph...Britain, with an army to enforce her tyranny, has declared that she has a right (not only to TAX) but ‘to BIND us in ALL CASES WHATSOEVER,’ and if being bound in that manner, is not slavery, then is there not such a thing as slavery upon earth. Even the expression is impious, for so unlimited a power can belong only to GOD.What is the main idea of this passage?
A) Taxes are bad.
B) God is all powerful.
C) America has a chance at independence.
D) Now is the time to rise up against Britain.

Answers

Answer:

D

Explanation:

The passage is encouraging strong and persistent resistance against what the author perceives to be unjust tyranny. Taxes and God are mentioned, but they are secondary topics within the main idea that British authority must be resisted.

Option C is inadequate because the paragraph really says nothing about the chances of independence, nor does it focus on probability. Rather, the context of the passage relays and urgent need to resist tyranny for a greater cause and noble end.

Answer:

D) Now is the time to rise up against Britain.

I would really recommend using sparknotes. They give you really good short summaries. You can just scan through them. Also I can’t answer your question directly because I’m in 8th grade and I read the hatchet in 4th grade, so that was about 4 years ago.

The auxiliary word which can be used only as a modal is (does, have, may)

Answers

The auxiliary word which can be used only as a modal is may. The correct option is c.

What are modals?

An auxiliary (helping) verb known as a modal expresses the following: ability, possibility, permission, or obligation. Modal phrases (or semi-modals), which combine auxiliary verbs and the preposition to, are used to express the same ideas as modals.

Modal verbs express potential, intention, capacity, or necessity. They are used with the main verb of the sentence because they are a type of auxiliary verb (helper verb). Examples that are frequently used are should and must.

Therefore, the correct option is c. may.

How would Shakespeare please the groundlings in his audience?A
with bawdy jokes
B
with poetic language
C
with heart-wrenching romance
D
with stories about kings and nobles

Answers

Shakespeare pleased the groundlings in his audience with bawdy jokes. The correct option is A.

Who is William Shakespeare?

William Shakespeare was an English playwright, poet, and actor who is widely considered to be one of the greatest writers in the English language. He lived during the late 16th and early 17th centuries and is known for his plays, which include tragedies like "Hamlet" and "Macbeth," comedies like "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "Twelfth Night," and histories like "Richard III" and "Henry V." Shakespeare's works have had a profound impact on literature, theater, and culture and are still widely studied and performed today.

Here in the Question,

Shakespeare would please the groundlings in his audience with bawdy jokes because the groundlings were typically lower-class citizens who enjoyed crude humor and sexual innuendos. Shakespeare often included such jokes in his plays to appeal to this audience and make them laugh. While he also used poetic language, heart-wrenching romance, and stories about kings and nobles in his plays, these elements were more likely to appeal to the upper-class members of his audience.

Therefore, Option A is the best answer.
