Why do meteorites burn when they enter the atmosphere?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: The answer is friction. Whenever anything decides to enter our atmosphere, they enter pretty fast, faster than they were in space thanks to gravity. But since they go really fast, they create friction with the gases. Those gases may be flammable and they light up. Then you see that it seems like the meteorite is burning, but actually it's the atmospheric gases around it.

The number of daylight hours changes during the year because?

Answers

The number of daylight hours changes during the year because of the Earth's slight tilt on its axis. This is the same reason why seasons occur. As the Earth rotates around the sun, its slight tilt makes it so that places away from the equator gradually are located farther and farther away from the sun thus changing the number of daylight hours.

I think it's A.

Answers

No, the answer is C. If it was A and the air cools, then why are deserts hot? Which human activity has probably contributed most to the acidification of lakes in Adirondack region

Answers

ANSWER:

Burning of fossil fuels has contributed most to the 'acidification of lakes' in Adirondack region.

EXPLANATION:

  • When 'fossil fuels are burnt',they release air pollutants that contain nitrogen and sulphur.
  • These elements form nitrogen dioxide and sulphur dioxide when they are released into the air.
  • Further, these gases react with water to form acids. This acid then falls along with precipitation when it rains and that is why rain is called acid rain.
  • This acid rain results in the deposition of acids on the surface of water bodies as well as other landforms on the earth.
The answer is acid rain due to pollution.
