Who said the following "I'll bed down there by the dark hull tonight, at dawn push off for the proud Cauconians. Those people owe me a debt long overdue, and no mean sum, believe me." *

Answers

Answer: Athena is the one who says: "I'll bed down there by the dark hull tonight, at dawn push off for the proud Cauconians. Those people owe me a debt long overdue, and no mean sum, believe me."

Explanation: The words provided are pronounced by Athena in the Odyssey. By saying this, she is trying to make Telemachus stay with Nestor, the king of Pylos who also fought in the Trojan War, while the goddess sleeps in the black ship and then heads for the Cauconians' land to make sure that they will pay their debt. Athena has a key role in the Odyssey since she is the one who assists and advices Telemachus as well as Ulysses throughout the story.

Which piece of dialogue in this excerpt from George Bernard Shaw’s Pygmalion shows that Eliza has a quick temper?

Colonel Pickering, the creator of Spoken Sanskrit, is equivalent to Higgins in terms of phonetics fervor. However, Pickering always acts with kindness and integrity, in contrast to Higgins, who is an arrogant, rash bully.

What is Pickering?

Pickering is defined as a city in Durham Region, Southern Ontario, Canada, just east of Toronto. The region was predominantly colonized by colonists of ethnic British descent starting in the 1770s. The Pickering Nuclear Generating Station, an eight-reactor facility with a 4,120 megawatt capacity, is located in Pickering.

Eliza decides to go it alone at the play's conclusion following a fierce struggle of wills. She says, "If I can't have kindness, I'll have independence." Eliza "sweeps out" at that point, per Shaw's final stage directions.

Thus, Colonel Pickering, the creator of Spoken Sanskrit, is equivalent to Higgins in terms of phonetics fervor. However, Pickering always acts with kindness and integrity, in contrast to Higgins, who is an arrogant, rash bully.

In this excerpt, it shows on how she was tempered in one part that would read the following: "when Higgins told her something that she didn't want to hear, she looked at him with eager eyes". As reading this, we can tell that she was not happy what so ever in this case. Therefore, we can see that she would have a 'quick temper', and also, she never gave this man time to think about what he has actually did.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using flashcards and rote form of studying?

Answers

Flashcards and rote form of studying both  have their advantages and disadvantages given the condition when which form is used.
At an early age rote form and flash cards can be useful to recognize and remember the basic words, definitions etc, it is interesting and gives a long time result. For example basic alphabets and words can be memorized by this method but when it comes to grammar you cannot use this.

The disadvantages are that on an advanced level that is not the way to learn, it is opposite of problem solving and learning process. This is very limited and can become very tiresome or boring method eventually to be left.
Both forms have advantages when used at proper time and level, and disadvantages when used wrongly.
