The English public, now consuming some eighteen pounds of sugar a year, knew little about the lives of the enslaved Africans whose labor sweetened their meals. Worse yet, every Englishman who hammered the wood, sewed the sails, manufactured the rope for slave ships, or built the barrels to hold slave-harvested sugar made his money from the slave trade. The English were getting richer because Africans were being turned into property. Clarkson and others who believed as he did, who in the coming decades would be called abolitionists, realized that while that link gave the English a stake in slavery, it also gave the antislavery forces an opportunity. If they could reverse the flow—make the horrors of slavery visible to those who benefited from it—they might be able to end the vile practice forever.–Sugar Changed the World,Marc Aronson and Marina BudhosWhich quotation provides evidence to support the claim that the sugar trade led to the end of slavery?1. “The English public . . . knew little about the lives of the enslaved Africans whose labor sweetened their meals.”2. “Every Englishman who . . . built the barrels to hold slave-harvested sugar made his money from the slave trade.”3. “The English were getting richer because Africans were being turned into property.”4. “While that link gave the English a stake in slavery, it also gave the antislavery forces an opportunity.”

In "Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata," what line is an example of a detail the author added for dramatic interest?

Answers

First of all, it is not an author, it is a composer, so this shouldn't be in english.

I reckon that Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata adds dramatic interest by adding dramatically increasing tempo and resonating parts. You will know that there is that one part where the music speeds up and it reaches a respectably high note, and it reverberates around the high A on the violin for a while. Also, I do believe that there is a key change in the middle, showing a shift in mood, which can add to the interest factor a lot.

Beethoven also adds bass notes every measure after I believe the 15th measure, so that could add some drama as well.

I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but I hope it helped.

PhyCS, there is a story called Beethoven's Moonlight Sonota.

You are correct, but there are to different questions; the story or the actual music?

BTW, I couldn't comment, so I just used the "add answer".
