Are impacts the same as results?
Impacts/results of global warming

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: No, they're not exactly the same, but the difference my be a subtle one.

The result of warming is that things get warmer. The impact of warming
is the change that it brings in things that depend on temperature.

Results:
-- The average temperature of the air increases.
-- The average temperature of the oceans increases.
-- The polar ice caps partially or completely melt.
-- The mean sea level rises.

Impacts:
-- Deserts grow in area.
-- Plant and tree species spread farther away from the equator.
-- Some of today's prime farm land becomes barren.
-- The supply of fresh water on Earth is reduced.
-- The average energy in storms is increased.
-- Some of today's coastal land becomes gone.

What volcanoes are on a divergent plate boundary

Answers

Places where plates are coming apart are called divergent boundaries. As shown in the drawing above, when Earth's brittle surface layer (the lithosphere) is pulled apart, it typically breaks along parallel faults that tilt slightly outward from each other. As the plates separate along the boundary, the block between the faults cracks and drops down into the soft, plastic interior (the asthenosphere). The sinking of the block forms a central valley called a rift. Magma (liquid rock) seeps upward to fill the cracks. In this way, new crust is formed along the boundary. Earthquakes occur along the faults, and volcanoes form where the magma reaches the surface.Where a divergent boundary crosses the land, the rift valleys which form are typically 30 to 50 kilometers wide. Examples include the East Africa rift in Kenya and Ethiopia, and the Rio Grande rift in New Mexico. Where a divergent boundary crosses the ocean floor, the rift valley is much narrower, only a kilometer or less across, and it runs along the top of a midoceanic ridge. Oceanic ridges rise a kilometer or so above the ocean floor and form a global network tens of thousands of miles long. Examples include the Mid-Atlantic ridge and the East Pacific Rise.Plate separation is a slow process. For example, divergence along the Mid Atlantic ridge causes the Atlantic Ocean to widen at only about 2 centimeters per year

Which of these components of a cell functions like the bones and muscles in the human body? A. chloroplasts B. ribosomes C. cytoskeleton D. cytoplasm

Answers

C is the correct answer.

The cytoskeleton is responsible  for cell shape, motility, of the cell as a whole and motility of organelles within a cell.  The cytoskeleton is extremely dynamic which is necessary for cells to be able to change shape , complete cell division, or migrate.

The cytoskeleton is the frame work of the cell. It is highly organized and also flexible. It  does not seem the same  as the human skeleton but some parts can act like our bones  and other parts like our muscles.

Explain the statement that waves cause both constructive and destructive change to the shore line

Answers

Destructive: when waves wash up on beaches they drag pebbles with them when they draw back.

Constructive: as the waves wash up onto the beach they lose energy, thus they deposit any sediment/pebbles that they have.

Hope this helps. :)

According to the lecture, 75% of US jobs are focused on providing services. This means they are in the __________ sector of the economy.

Answers

Answer:

According to the lecture, 75% of US jobs are focused on providing services. This means they are in the tertiary sector of the economy.

Explanation:

The service sector or tertiary sector is the economic sector in which companies want to make a profit by selling their goods or services. The name belongs to the meso-economy, which studies industries.

The tertiary sector includes shops, hotels, restaurants, theaters, hairdressers, business service providers, lawyers, IT companies and other service providers. In developed economies such as in Western Europe and the United States, between 70 and 80 percent of the gross domestic product is realized in the service sector.

The answer is tertiary

The number of daylight hours changes during the year because?

Answers

The number of daylight hours changes during the year because of the Earth's slight tilt on its axis. This is the same reason why seasons occur. As the Earth rotates around the sun, its slight tilt makes it so that places away from the equator gradually are located farther and farther away from the sun thus changing the number of daylight hours.
