Which best explains why the Supreme Court’s decision in Plessy v. Ferguson was unconstitutional?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: Since segregation laws did not provide equal protections or liberties to non-whites, the ruling was not consistent with the 14th Amendment.

In Plessy v. Ferguson the Supreme Court decided that segregation was fine as long as things were equal..."separate but equal". However in Brown v. Board of Education, it was proven that when things are separate, they are not equal. By allowing for separation, they were creating inequalities. This then proved that the Plessy v. Ferguson ruling was unconstitutional. What's interesting is that the verdict has never been overturned. There have been other decisions like Brown v. Board of Education that help prevent separate but equal.

Plessy v. Ferguson, 163 U.S. 537  was a outstanding decision of the U.S. Supreme Court made in 1896. It advocated the constitutionality of racial segregation laws for public facilities as long as the segregated facilities remained equal in quality which constituted a doctrine refered to as "separate but equal".

How do I write a paragraph on weaknesses and strengths of my job

Answers

A good way to begin would be to state your job in a quick and brief description, then you would state what you feel are the difficulties in which you encounter doing that job as the weaknesses. Finally the last few sentences should be about how you overcome other problems and how your job allows you to do so.

What literary device is apparent in the bolded lines of Viola’s speech to the captain in act II, scene IV, of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night?VIOLA: Too well what love women to men may owe:
In faith, they are as true of heart as we.
My father had a daughter loved a man,
As it might be, perhaps, were I a woman,
I should your lordship.

Answer:

Dramatic irony.

Explanation:

Irony is a literary device where the expressed feeling of an individual is the opposite of what is meant. This use of irony is also mainly employed for humorous or comical effect.

The given excerpt from Act II scene iv of William Shakespeare's play "Twelfth Night" is a dialogue of Viola but disguised as Cesario. She, as a male in disguise, tells the Duke Orsino of how her/his father's daughter had once loved someone. Along that line, she proclaims that "were (he) a woman,  (he) should your lordship." She is declaring her love for the Duke but as she's in disguise as a man, she cannot openly say it. Thus, this is a case of dramatic irony where the characters have no idea about the scene but the audience/ readers all know that Cesario is Viola in disguise. And we also know that she meant to say these words like she's her real self and not as Cesario.

This is an example of dramatic irony. Dramatic Irnoy is the contrast between what the characters think they know and what the audience/readers know is true.
