Which of the following was a cause of imperialismA. People had a desire for access to raw materials and natural resources.
B. Mexico became aggressive toward the United States.
C. Advanced nations felt that each ethnic group should be able to pick its own form of government.
D. The United States needed more land for the growing population.

Answers

The correct answer is A. People had a desire for access to raw materials and natural resources.

Basically, manufacturing started developing rapidly and companies were making more and more products. They needed  to sell them so they started exporting to underdeveloped areas. This also meant that the needs of people from those areas increased so now they needed more resources to make more products. This led to imperialism which resulted in colonization. They would take a territory under its rule in order to exploit them for resources.
It is A but there was also 5 main causes of imperialism

1. Political (nationalism, to be the most powerful country by ruling many other countries).
2. Economical (to use other country's resources, recieve cheap labor, have a market for their goods. i.e. Africa).
3. Religious (to spread their religion. i.e. missionaries)
4. Idealogical (believed that their race was better and had to civilize other people by teaching them. i.e. The White Man's burden)
5. Exploratory (people wanted to explore new lands for mapping, etc.)

The birthrate in most of developing countries is higher than in developed ones. Here are some reasons :

  1. Women have little control over their lives. They don't always have access to birth control.
  2. Less developed countries depend on farming, and to do that, families need more children to work in the farms. The more children you have, the more workers you'll have.
  3. Abortion is not readily available.
  4. Religious and/or cultural point of views encourage more children.
  5. Sad but true, in many cultures, boys are valued more than girls, so the couples who start off with girls will keep having babies until they have a boy.
Population growth in developing countries is high primarily because of the availability of resources that are made available by countries trying to invest in these developing countries, such as medical clinics.

In one to two sentences describe why some people support rent control

Answers

Rent control, like all other government-mandated price limits, is a rule that establishes a maximum price, or "rent ceiling," for landlords to charge tenants.

Who benefits more from rent control?

Rent controls must provide renters with greater security over their tenancy while simultaneously regulating the rentals they pay. Both are required since landlords could otherwise force tenants to leave notwithstanding any security by raising their rents excessively.

For more information about rent control refer to the link:

Supporters of rent control believe that it makes housing more affordable. More people are able to rent a place to live, because the cost of renting is lower. So rent control can make it possible for more people with low-paying jobs to have shelter.
