This passage describes the early years of the Columbian Exchange. Based on this passage, why did many indigenous inhabitants of the New World adopt the view that interaction with European settlers was harmful to their societies? Just twenty years ago, the lands were filled with peoples from different nations, each with their own customs and tongues. Not a day went by without the assurance there would be plentiful land and an abundance of beasts in the forests for their peoples. Their villages and settlements were many, and their societies were rich and complex. Warriors, craftsmen, weavers, hunters, and dealers engaged in their everyday lives, bringing much good to their nations. But then the merchants from across the Great Sea started to come, and they brought with them a great many things never seen before on these shores. The inhabitants were glad at first to trade for these items they desired so greatly. But these brought only temporary benefits. For hidden in these goods was an invisible force, one that would affect every tribe in this great land. No person, regardless of stature, was spared. Children, mothers, and even chiefs were no match for this unseen warrior. In the span of only three generations, the majority of their villages disappeared, and the greatest lot of their peoples walked this land no more. A. The inhabitants of the New World were pressured to join military alliances with the European settlers. B. The European settlers used military force to compel the inhabitants of the New World to trade. C. The European settlers were hoarding goods produced by the New World inhabitants. D. The inhabitants of the New World had no resistance to new diseases brought by the Europeans.

How do you think the Internet will affect the world of work in the future?

Answers

Answer:

The internet will always be changing jobs and behaviors in society because how connected everything will be

Explanation:

The more people are connected to each other, the faster a system is created to solve other people's problems through a new network of services, for example. We can see it with things like AirBnB, Uber, and others. Also, you can now hire people, on the internet, to work for you on things that you need for a cost that you can pay, as long as it is a cost that someone else is willing to accept for the job. You can hire translators that are on the other side of the world and they can deliver in a few days. Internet will always be changing things, since the more connected humans are, the more creative they'll get and the more changes will be seen in the market.

I believe the internet will make people more lazy as time goes on and one day all the technology will get to smart and have a mind of its own then take over the world.

Which primary source document would give you insight into how the Great Chicago Fire affected working-class families? A.) a letter B.) a newspaper account C.) an essay D.) an immigrant newspaper

Answers

The answer is B. Because most likely the essay may not have all the info you need, and a letter is definitely not going to help, and the newspaper account may not have anything about the fire.

Final answer:

A letter from a member of a working-class family during or shortly after the Great Chicago Fire would provide the most insight into their experiences. This primary source document would reveal firsthand accounts and personal details not typically found in broader newspaper accounts.

Explanation:

To gain insight into how the Great Chicago Fire impacted working-class families, a personal primary source document like a letter would be very valuable. A letter written by a member of a working-class family during or immediately after the fire could provide firsthand accounts and personal anecdotes, revealing the challenges and hardships they experienced. While a newspaper account could also offer perspective on the event, it would likely represent a more general or 'bird's eye' view rather than the intimate details a personal letter could provide.
