Following with significant holdings in Asia and Africa is France. Austria-Hungary is the first of the "losers," having made just minor progress. Due to their weak economies, Portugal and Spain both gained only modest amounts of land; Spain, in particular, lost some of her empire to America following the Spanish-American War in 1898.
Italy is well remembered for being the largest loser; it attempted to attack Ethiopia but was repulsed, had no land in Asia, and only had one significant colony—the unprofitable and persistently insurrectional Libya.
Otto von Bismark, Germany's tremendously talented prime minister, said imperialism was a waste of time. Germany was a highly powerful country, but it was unable to acquire more territory because it entered the game too late.
Considering its size and might, the United States only had a limited amount of land under its control—some in the Pacific and the Caribbean—but it was generally opposed to imperialism, and what it did obtain was incredibly profitable and met all of its needs.

Sorry if it does not help, but this is my all. :3 French and British Military Conflict. During this time the French and the British empires were in a struggle for control of Lake Champlain. The reason being that it was a strategic highway with access into the interior of the Northeast.
