(Points : 1)
Pay Separately
All Day Pass

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: 1. The answer is 76.

If the group all together is only being charged once per ride, and the whole group is going twice, then you will double the cost of each ride:

4.50 x 2 = 9
4 x 2 = 8
3.50 x 2 = 7

In total, the rides will cost $24. So, if you're paying with a $100 bill, you will receive $76 in change.

2.2 The answer is 58.

You will do the same procedure as the first question, but this time multiply the costs by 3.

5.50 x 3 = 16.5
2 x 3 = 6
6.50 x 3 = 19.5

The total will be 42. Subtracted from 100, you will get 58.

3.3 The answer is 2.

If you have 15 dollars and the coaster costs 5.50, the first time you ride it you will have 9.50 left. The second time, you will have 4 dollars left, and then you will not be able to pay for a third time.

4.4 The answer is 23.25

If you add up all the correlating costs of the tickets (6.75 + 4.50 + 4.50 + 10.50 + 10.50), you will get 36.75. Then you must subtract that from 60, which will give you 23.25 dollars in change.

5.5 The answer is 54.75

You will do the same procedure here as you did above. Add the corresponding costs together (you're done after this part, because the question isn't asking for how much change you'll receive).

6.6 The answer is 7.

If the tickets cost $10.50 and you have $80, then you want to divide 80 by 10.50. You will get 7.6. Since you can't buy a sixth of a ticket, your answer will be 7.

7.7 The answer is to pay separately.

In this question, you will add all the costs together (except the day pass) and compare it to the cost of the day pass. Once you add all the costs together, you will get 17.50. This is cheaper than the day pass, which is 19.95.

Please help 50 pointsPart A: Explain why the x-coordinates of the points where the graphs of the equations y = 4–x and y = 2x + 3 intersect are the solutions of the equation 4–x = 2x + 3. (4 points)

Part B: Make tables to find the solution to 4–x = 2x + 3. Take the integer values of x between −3 and 3. (4 points)

Part C: How can you solve the equation 4–x = 2x + 3 graphically? (2 points)

Answers

Hi There! :D

Part A) you have the equations of two lines: y = 4-x and y = 2x + 3 If a point is on the first line AND that same point is on the other line, then the point must be at the intersection (where the lines cross). the y value of this point will be BOTH 4-x and 2x+3. In other words 4-x= 2x+3

part C) graph the two lines y = 4-x and y = 2x + 3 and see where they intersect. That is, pick out the (x,y) pair that is on both lines.

Part A:To find the point where the two lines intersect, you must find the common point (x). To find this, you must set the two equations equal to each other.

Tyler purchased something on account. I'm using the gross method of recording.

1) Purchases  xx

"A solid machine part is to be manufactured as shown in the figure. The part is made by cutting a small cone off the top of a larger cone. The small cone has a base radius of 3 inches and a height of 5 inches. The larger cone has a base radius of 5 inches and had a height of 12 inches prior to being cut. What is the volume of the resulting part illustrated in the figure?"-------------------------
I keep doing the math for it and get 359 cubed inches (rounded to the closest whole number) when including the pi, and 114*pi cubed inches when I exclude it. The answer choices are 60*pi cubed inches, 65*pi cubed inches, 85*pi cubed inches, and 90*pi cubed inches. Can someone go through the math of this?

Answers

Large cone:

V = 1/3 x pi x r^2 x h

= 1/3 x 3.14 x 9^2 x 15

= 1272.3 cubic inches

Smaller cone:

V = 1/3 x pi x r^2 x h

= 1/3 x 3.14 x 3^2 x 5

= 47.1 cubic inches

1272.3 - 47.1 = 1225.2 cubic inches

1272/3.14 ≈ 390

The answer is 390 × pi.
