Choose the three fractions that are less than 4/8 A) 1/2 B) 1/4 C) 5/8 D) 1/3 E) 1/8 F) 3/4

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:

Answer:

B. 1/4

D. 1/3

E. 1/8

Step-by-step explanation:

4/8 can be represented as 1/2 or a half, therefore, find fractions that are less than half of the denominator.

Doing so will leave you with B, D, and E.

B.

Half of 4/4 is 2/4, 1/4 is less

D.

Half of 3/3 is 1.5/3, 1/3 is less

E.

Half of 8/8 is 4/8, 1/8 is less

A bike ramp has a slope of 1/4. What is the angle the ramps makes with the ground to the nearest degree?

Answers

The slope is equivalent to the rise over run. Since the slope of the bike ramp is ¼, the rise is equivalent to 1 and the run is equivalent to 4. To get the angle of the bike ramp make with the ground, let us use the equation tanθ= rise/run.

Therefore, tanθ= ¼.

Θ=tan-1 (1/4)

So the angle of the bike ramp is Θ= 14degrees

Maria is comparing the prices of two window cleaning companies. Company A charges $6 per window and an additional $12 as service charges. Company B charges $5 per window and an additional $15 as service charges.Part A: Write equations to represent Company A's and Company B's total charges for cleaning a certain number of windows. Define the variable used in the equations. (4 points)

Part B: Which company would charge less for cleaning 8 windows? Justify your answer. (3 points)

Part C: How much money is saved by using the services of Company B instead of Company A to clean 6 windows? (3 points)

Answers

Part A
y=6x+12
y=5x+15
x is the amount of windows, y is the total amount of money
Part B
y=6(8)+12       =60
y=5(8)+15      =52
Company B
Part C
y=6(6)+12       =48
y=5(6)+12       =42
$6 is saved

Hi, Braydon !  Long time no see.  Hope it's all good with you.

First of all, that " -1 " exponent outside the whole thing.  That means
invert everything inside.  So you're really simplifying:

            -21 y⁶ z⁻⁸ / 147 y⁴ z⁴

You can easily write this as the product of  3  separate fractions.
That doesn't change anything, but it makes it a lot easier to handle:

       (-21/147) x (y⁶/y⁴) x (z⁻⁸/z⁴) .

Simplify each one, then just multiply them together again.

First one:  (-21/147)  Divide top and bottom by 21, and it's  (-1/7) .

Second one:  (y⁶/y⁴)  Divide top and bottom by y⁴, and it's (y²) .

Third one:  (z⁻⁸/z⁴)  Multiply top and bottom by  z⁸,  and it's  (1/z¹²).

Multiply them:

                     (-1/7) x (y²) x (1/z¹²)  =

                        - y² / 7 z¹² .

That's exactly the same thing as the original expression in the picture,
but it's a lot prettier.
