Okay so I have having a little problem with slope- intercept form when you have two points. Help?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: To find the slope of the line you have to do change in y over the change in x. I will be using the example (3,6) and (1,4). So if you find the change in y over the change in x you have 2/2. The slope would be 1. and if you have slope intercept form (y=mx+b) you get y=1x+b. Now all you have to find is b. Substitute in any of the points given and you have 4=1+b. Therefore b = 3. So your full equation is: y=x+3

Two computer technicians, Sue and Kiana, each counted the number of computers that she had repaired every day for 2 weeks. Their manager made line plots from these data. What is the degree of overlap of the two data sets’ distributions?

Answers

The correct to the question above would be high. If Sue and Kiana are counting the number of computers that they had repaired every day for 2 weeks and if their manager also made a line plot from these data, it would be a high degree of over of the two data sets' distributions.
the answer to the question is high

Many bicycles have 26 inch diameter wheels. The low gear attached to your pedals has a radius of 2.2 inches. The low rear gear, driven by the chain attached to the front gear, has a diameter of 3 inches. How far does the bike travel in one rotation of the pedals, i.e. the front gear revolves once.

Answers

The circumference is 'Pi' times diameter.

So one rotation of the pedals will cause the front chain drive to complete one full turn, so it will move the chain the same distance as it's circumference.

So it will move the chain
(2.2 Pi )inches. Then the back drive has a circumference of  3pi inches, but it only turns 2.2pi inches. So it turns 2.2pi/3pi = 11/15 of a full rotation. Since the wheel turns at the same rate as the back chain drive, the wheel will turn  11/15 of a full turn as well.

And since the back wheel is 26 inches in diameter, it's circumference is 26pi
inches. If it turned a full rotation, it would go this distance along the ground, but it is only going  11/15 of this distance, so it is going (11/15)x 26pi =(286/15)pi inches. Or approximately 59.8997 inches.

The number( √5 +2)(√5 - 2) is a. an irrational number b. a rational number c. not a natural number d. none of these

Answers

Answer:

The number (√5 + 2)(√5 - 2) can be simplified using the difference of squares formula, which states that (a + b)(a - b) = a² - b². In this case:

(√5 + 2)(√5 - 2) = (√5)² - 2² = 5 - 4 = 1

So, the number (√5 + 2)(√5 - 2) is equal to 1, which is a rational number because it can be expressed as a ratio of two integers (1/1). Therefore, the correct answer is:

b. a rational number

Final answer:

The expression ( √5 +2)(√5 - 2) can be simplified using the difference of squares formula. The result is a rationalnumber, making option b. a rational number the correct answer.

Explanation:

The expression ( √5 +2)(√5 - 2) can be simplified using the difference of squares formula. The difference of squares formula states that a^2 - b^2 = (a + b)(a - b). In this case, a = √5 and b = 2. Plugging these values into the formula, we have (√5)^2 - 2^2 = ( √5 +2)(√5 - 2) = 5 - 4 = 1.

Since 1 is a rational number (it can be expressed as a fraction), the correct answer is b. a rational number.
