A gas occupies 12.3 l at a pressure of 40 mm hg. what is the volume when the pressure is increased to 60 mm hg

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: From boyles law.
P1v1=P2v2
So,12.3×40=v×60
V= 12.3×40/60
8.2
Answer 2
Answer: Boyle's Law states an inverse relationship between volume and pressure. If the constant of proportionality is 12.3×40 which is 492, the volume would be 492÷60 which is 8.2.

Answer is 8.2 I

"Henry mixed salt and water together in a cup until he observed a clear solution. He measured the mass of the solution. Then he placed the cup outside for several sunny days during the summer. After a week, he observed that only solid salt remained in the cup and the mass had decreased. Henry concluded that a physical and chemical change occurred in this investigation."Which statements correctly defend or dispute his conclusion?A.)He is correct. Dissolving salt in water is a physical change, but evaporating the water is a chemical change. Formation of a solid is evidence that a chemical change occurred.B.)He is correct. Evaporation is a physical change, but dissolving salt in water is a chemical change. The change in mass is evidence that a chemical change occurred.C.)He is incorrect. Dissolving salt in water and evaporation of the water are both physical changes. The reappearance of salt is evidence that the change was reversible by a physical change, so it could not be a chemical change.D.)He is incorrect. Dissolving salt in water and evaporation of the water are both chemical changes. The reappearance of salt is evidence that the change was reversible by a chemical change, so it could not be a physical change.

The amount of energy a person can consume throughout the day without gaining weight is extremely dependent onA. hunger.
B. appetite.
C. culture.
D. activity level.

Answers

I'm quite sure it's activity level. One other thing that could've been said is metabolism, but that isn't there. However, food is consumed for the body to have energy, and without that energy we wouldn't be able to function. And when we let that intake of food settle, it's stored as fat. But because of activity level, we are capable of burning those calories.

Why does it make sense that if an atom loses electrons, it is left with a pisitive charage?

Answers

Because atoms are neutral. By neutral, I mean that; there are three main particles that make up an atom. Protons, Electrons and Neutrons. Protons have (electrically) positive charge, electrons have negative and neutrons are electrically neutral. One proton's charge is +1 and one electron's charge is -1. An atom (normally) has the same amount of protons and electrons. Let's say if an atom has two protons and two electrons, the sum of electrical charges of the protons is (two times +1) +2 and sum of electrical charge of electrons is (two times -1) -2 . The total charge of the atom is the sum these. So, (-2)+(2)= 0. That makes the charge of the atom 0, thus makes it neutral. But let's say this atom loses one of its electrons, and now has only one. So one electron (-1) and two protons (+2) in total will be : (-1)+(2) = +1 . +1 is positive, so this makes the charge of the atom positive.

Electrons have a net negative charge, therefore by losing them the atom will become slightly more positive.

Which of the following factors can lead to desertification in the presence of natural drought?a. deforestation
b. sustainable grazing
c. underground mining
d. all of the above

Answers

Answer : Option A) Deforestation.

Explanation : Factors related to deforestation can lead to desertification in presence of natural drought.

As natural drought hit area is an area which has low amount of water supply in the land. It is also called as below average precipitation land when drought area is deforested it will lead to desertification. As the plants in the drought area are the reason why their is at least low water is found, if these vegetation is deforested then it will lose its capacity to hold water and the land will be deserted.
