there are 225 wolves in a state park the population is increasing at the rate of 15% per year you want to make a prediction for how long it will take the population to reach 500

Answers

Well, here is how i would do it.

We start with 225, at a rate of 15% per year. Assuming your answers are in years and not months, we will increase by this increment; years.

So, we start with 225, and a 15%, or .15, increase. So what we would do, it take 225 times .15. One way ive learned to do this (via algebra class) is that you can times it by 1.15 to make it quicker, this just takes out the adding step.

So after one year, we would have a total of 258.75, or about 259 wolves.

after two years, we would have about 298 (we cant have a half of a wolf!)

after 3 years, we would have about 343 wolves.

after 4 years, we would have about 394 ish

after 5 years, we would have about 453

after 6 years, we would have about 521.

So, it would take about 5 and a half years, if thats an option choice.

If f(x) = (x + 7)^2, which of the following is g(x) based on the translation?g(x) = (x + 9)^2
g(x) = (x + 5)^2
g(x) = (x − 9)^2
g(x) = (x − 5)^2

Answers

f(x) = (x+7)²
(x+7)(x+7) = x(x+7)+7(x+7) = x² + 7x + 7x + 49 = x² + 14x + 49

(x+9)² = (x+9)(x+9) = x(x+9)+9(x+9) = x² + 9x + 9x + 81 = x² + 18x + 81
(x+5)² = (x+5)(x+5) = x(x+5)+5(x+5) = x² + 5x + 5x + 25 = x² + 10x + 25
(x-9)² = (x-9)(x-9) = x(x-9)-9(x-9) = x² - 9x - 9x + 81 = x² - 18x + 81
(x-5)² = (x-5)(x-5) = x(x-5)-5(x-5) = x² - 5x - 5x + 25 = x² - 10x + 25

I think g(x) based on the translation would be g(x) = (x+9)²

The function that is based on the translation is g(x) = (x + 5)^2

How to determine the translation?

The function f(x) is given as:

f(x) = (x + 7)^2

The function f(x) is translated 2 units right to get function g(x)

This means that:

g(x) = f(x - 2)

So, we have:

f(x - 2) = (x -2 + 7)^2

Evaluate

f(x - 2) = (x + 5)^2

This gives

g(x) = (x + 5)^2

Hence, the function that is based on the translation is g(x) = (x + 5)^2

07.04 Equilibrium: Hands-On Equilibrium Demonstration Lab Part III follows a similar procedure as Part I and Part II, except you will be adding additional candies to the activity. Start with 40 candies on the reactant side of the paper. For each round, half of the candies that were on the reactant (R) side of the paper from the last round should be moved to the product side. One-fourth of the candies that were on the product (P) side of the paper from the last round should be moved to the reactant side. (If you end up with a decimal for the number to exchange, round up.) At the end of each round, count the number of candies on each side of the paper and keep track of the numbers in a data table. After five rounds, add 40 more candies to the reactant side of the paper. Continue following the instructions in Step 2 with this new amount of candy (total of 80 pieces of candy) for an additional 10 rounds. At the end of 15 total rounds, calculate the ratio (ratio = P/R) of products to reactants.
