Answer: sum of two consecutive terms is 145
let the numbers be the nth and (n+1)th term

nth term = 5n+10
(n+1)th term = 5(n+1)+10 = 5n+5+10 = 5n+15

5n+10 + 5n+15 = 145
⇒ 10n + 25 = 145
⇒ 10n = 145-25 = 120
⇒ n = 120/10 = 12

terms are:
5n+10 = 5 x 12 + 10 = 70
5n + 15 = 5 x 12 + 15 = 75

3 1/3

Answer: 3 1/3
It's 3 and 1/4.You work out how many times the denominator goes into the top. In this case it's 3 and thus becomes the big number. The remainder is 1 which is written over the original denominator which would be 1/4.

Okay, when rounding, always look at the number one place to the right, if it is five or above, round up, if it is below five, round down. 34.28 rounds to 34.3 in this case.

A used book sale charged $7.50 for hardcovers and $1.25 for paperbacks. During the sale, 15 hardcovers were sold and the sale earned $166.25. Write and solve an equation to determine the number of paperbacks, p, that were sold. 20 points i think

Answers

Answer:

43 paperback books

Step-by-step explanation:

7.50(15) + 1.25x = 166.25

112.50 + 1.25x = 166.25

Subtract 112.50 from both sides

(112.50 - 112.50) + 1.25x = (166.25 - 112.50)

1.25x = 53.75

Divide 1.25 from both sides

x = 43

You were overcharged $4.52 on your cell phone bill 3 months in a row. The cell phone company says that it will add -$4.52 to your next bill for each month you were overcharged. On the next bill, you see an adjustment of -$13.28. Is this amount correct?

Answers

Since it was overcharged $4.52 for 3 months you paid 4.52×3= $13.56 more

They only refunded $13.28 which is wrong
