2. Body Composition: Body composition is one determinant of energy requirements. It is the energy requirement for the formation of new cells i.e., cell division which maintains the cell number constant in body.

3. Digestion and Absorption: Digestion and absorption are the basic processes which are used to produce energy in the form of ATP through cellular respiration in the mitochondria of cell.

4. Physical Energy: For the production of physical energy which is required for causing movement, energy is required.

5. Mental Energy: To do mental work such as learning, thinking, etc. Energy is needed by the cells.
