Answers

Answer 1
Answer: Short term: The success of the Montgomery Bus Boycott included raising the spotlight on Martin Luther King Jr., who had been a big help in organizing the boycott. Additionally, when the African-American population in Tallahassee, Florida saw how monumental the Montgomery Bus Boycott turned out to be, they decided to give it a try. They're boycott lasted from May 27, 1956 to March of 1958.

If the perimeter is 72 inches, what is the area of the poster

Answers

You can't tell.  The perimeter doesn't tell you the area, and the
area doesn't tell you the dimensions.

Here's a little example.  ALL of the rectangles on this list have
the same perimeter ... 72 inches:

1 x 35 . . . . . Area = 35 square inches
2 x 34 . . . . . Area =  68 square inches
3 x 33 . . . . . Area =  99 square inches
4 x 32 . . . . . Area =  128 square inches
5 x 31 . . . . . Area =  155 square inches
6 x 30 . . . . . Area =  180 square inches
10 x 26 . . . . . Area = 260 square inches
15 x 21 . . . . . Area = 315 square inches
18 x 18 . . . . . Area = 324 square inches .

What type of poem is this?

"I cannot go to school today"
Said little Peggy Ann McKay.
"I have the measles and the mumps,
A gash, a rash and purple bumps.

My mouth is wet, my throat is dry.
I'm going blind in my right eye.
My tonsils are as big as rocks,
I've counted sixteen chicken pox.

And there's one more - that's seventeen,
And don't you think my face looks green?
My leg is cut, my eyes are blue,
It might be the instamatic flu.

I cough and sneeze and gasp and choke,
I'm sure that my left leg is broke.
My hip hurts when I move my chin,
My belly button's caving in.

My back is wrenched, my ankle's sprained,
My 'pendix pains each time it rains.
My toes are cold, my toes are numb,

I have a sliver in my thumb.

My neck is stiff, my voice is weak,
I hardly whisper when I speak.
My tongue is filling up my mouth,

I think my hair is falling out.

My elbow's bent, my spine ain't straight,
My temperature is one-o-eight.
My brain is shrunk, I cannot hear,

There's a hole inside my ear.

I have a hangnail, and my heart is ...
What? What's that? What's that you say?
You say today is .............. Saturday?

G'bye, I'm going out to play!"

This is a narrative poem. It narrates how the day goes for Peggy Ann McKay. You will know that Peggy tries to make excuses so as not to go to school. In the second stanza, she has already mentioned five excuses, "My mouth is wet, my throat is dry./ I'm going blind in my right eye./ My tonsils are as big as rocks,/ I've counted sixteen chicken pox." At the end though, Peggy discovers that it is Saturday so she suddenly feels well and plans to go out to play.

This is a narrative poem because there is a narrator telling the poem
