Monroe Doctrine was the cornerstone for the US foreign policy. It declared that the Old World and the New world had different ideas and systems. The worlds must remain in distinct spheres. This was enunciated by President James Monroe.

Four basic points stated by Monroe.

1. USA would not interfere with internal affairs between European powers

2. The USA recognized and would not interfere with existing colonies and dependencies in the Western Hemisphere

3. No future colonization pf Western Hemisphere.

4. Any attempt by a European power to oppress or control any nation in the Western Hemisphere would be viewed as a hostile act against the United States.

Truman, UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and Chairman of the Nationalist Government of China Chian Kai-shek issued the document which outlined the terms of surrender for the Empire of Japan.
