If the point ((4,-2) what is included in a direct viration relationship which point also belongs and variation

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:

Answer:

The answer is "This direct variant (-4,2) is part of it".

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation expresses its direct variation relation

y = mx ........ (1)

Where x and y vary directly, and k vary continuously.

Now so the point (4,-2) is in the direct relation of variation, so from equation (1) we are given,-2 = 4m

\to m=-(1)/(2)

The equation (1) is therefore converted into

\to y=-(1)/(2)x \n\n\to x + 2y = 0 ......... (2)

Then only the point (-4,2) satisfies the connection with the four possibilities (2). Therefore (-4,2) is a direct variant of this.

A stretched spring has a length of 12 inches when a weight of 2 lbs is attached to the spring. The same spring has a length of 18 inches when a weight of 5 lbs is attached to the spring. What is the length of the spring when no weights are attached?

Answers

The way I figured this one out was saying that if it takes 2lbs to stretch it to 12 inches and 5lbs to stretch to 18 inches that means that 3 additional pounds = 6 inches. Therefore, each additional pound is 2 inches. We know already that with 2 lbs it was 12 inches in length and we can also say that 2 lbs = 4 inches. So subtract 4 from 12 and you end up with the answer of 8 inches.

Answer:

3) 361/11

4) 51

Step-by-step explanation:

for both problems, they give you the length of the segment so you just add both of the segments equal to the length of the whole segment. then for whatever you find as x, plug it into the equation.

ex. 7x+1+4x-3=42

or

5x-8+7x-12=10x-2

What is the slope of the line shown in the graph? A coordinate plane is shown. Points are graphed at negative 3 comma 2 and negative 1 comma negative 1. The points are connected by a line. −3 over 2 −1 over 2 3 over 2 Undefined

Answers

The slope of a line is the rate of change of the line

The slope of the line is -3/2

The points on the line are given as:

\mathbf{(x,y) = \{(-3,2)\ (-1,-1)\}}

The slope (m) is calculated as:

\mathbf{m = (y_2 - y_1)/(x_2 - x_1)}

So, we have:

\mathbf{m = (-1-2)/(-1--3)}

\mathbf{m = (-3)/(2)}

Rewrite as:

\mathbf{m = -(3)/(2)}

Hence, the slope of the line is -3/2

Which function in vertex form is equivalent to f(x) = 4 + x2 – 2x?

Answers

The question is asking us to find which function in the vertex form is equivalent to f ( x ) = 4 + x^2 - 2 x. We have to add 1 to make a squared binomial ( and also to subtract 1 ). f ( x ) = ( x^2 - 2 x + 1 ) - 1 + 4 = ( x - 1 )^2 + 3. Then we have the vertex point ( 1, 3 ). Answer: The function in vertex form is: f ( x ) = ( x - 1 ) ^2 + 3.

Answer:

Vertex form of the function will be f(x) = (x - 1)² + 3.

Step-by-step explanation:

Vertex form of a quadratic function is given by f(x) = a(x - h)² + k

where (h, k) is the vertex of the given parabola.

Now we will convert the function in the vertex form.

f(x) = x² - 2x + 1 + 3

     = (x - 1)² + 3

Therefore, the vertex form of the function will be f(x) = (x - 1)² + 3

and the vertex will be (1, 3).
