Answer 1
Answer:

Answer:

y/x = 8 shows DIRECT variation.

Step-by-step explanation:

y varies directly as x if y = kx for some constant, k.  In other words, y/x is constant.

A triangle with 118° and 42 in. is what type of triangle?

Which equation does not belong with the other three:5y=2x

y=2 fifths x

10y=4x

5xy=2

Answers

5xy = 2 does not belong, because it doesn't simplify to 5y = 2x like the others. The second one is done when you divide both sides by 5, and you get y = 2/5x, which is true. The third one is done when you multiply both sides by 2, which is 10y = 4x, which is also true. But for the fourth one, to get x to move, you need to divide x from both sides, which is NOT 5xy = 2, it's actually 5y/x = 2. Hope this helps :D

The ratio of the walking speeds of three peoplev in race walking is 3:4:5. If their walking
distances are the same, then the ratio of the
times taken is
A. 3:4:5.
B. 9:16:25.
c. 16:15:9.
D. 20:15:12

3 : 4 : 5 = 3² : 4² : 5² = 9 : 16 : 25

The answer is B.

Hope this helps.

-- You know that the area of every rectangle is (its length) times (its width).

-- Area of the screen you have now = (10.8cm) x (6.1cm) = 65.88 cm²

-- Area of the screen on the new phone = (12.4cm) x (6.9cm) = 85.56 cm²

Say !  Are you supposed to write an equation to find the difference ?
OK.
                     Difference = (L₂W₂) - (L₁W₁)

L₂ and W₂ are the length and width of the new phone

L₁ and W₁ are the length and width of the phone you have now.

I'm sure that if you want to know what the difference is, you can
use that equation to find it.

Concerning the question in the blue box:  I guess "Write an Equation"
was not a very effective strategy for solving this problem.  Not only
did you not write an equation, you didn't even mention that an
equation was supposed to be written when you posted it.  You just
kind of shied away from the whole subject.

Looking over the choices, I'd say that my equation allows you to use
the numbers given in the problem to calculate the unknown.

If a coin rotates 160 degrees in 6 seconds,how many degrees does it rotate in 20 seconds?

Answers

Okay so this is how I would do it but you can do it a different way
160/2 = 80 (2 b/c I want a whole # and 2 is a factor of 6 & 20)
so 80 degree in 2 seconds
so then 80 *10=800 (10 b/c 20/2=10)
but since there's only 360 degrees in a full circle
800/360=2.22
so we go back to 80 *2.22=177.6 degrees
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
v.s. 160           n
        ----     *    ---       (20 *160=3200/6=533.33
          6            20

You can go w/ whatever answer you think is right b/c frankly I don't know but if I were you I would go with the second one because it seems more right and there's actually a method to the madness.

Answer:

n + p = m

Step-by-step explanation:

x(the unnamed angle) and m both equal 180

x + m = 180

x + n + p =180

180 = 180

x + m = x + n + p

m = n + p
