In my own opinion, the use of hypertext does not confuse me when I read and it does help me in comprehending the text even better and finish more readings.
Hypertext makes it quite easy for me to control what i read, how i read it, get want i want from the text and even use my own style in reading.
A confused, disoriented reader can only be when he or she does not understand what hypertext is all about or does not know about advancedhypertext and when they use it at first, they become confused.
Studies has shown that reading a text in hypertext format had negative repercussions for learning.
Some students do not preferred the hypertext because it uses more of mental effort. Hypermedia helps one to focus on a particular content.
