Explain how to compare numbers using place value ?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: Place value is ones, tens, hundredths, thousandths.
I.e. 123.56

1 is in the hundreds place. 2 is in the tens place. 3 is in the ones place. And after the decimal you add -th to the end of the place value (tens->tenths). So 5 is in the tenths place (to the right of the decimal you skip the ones place). And 6 is the hundredth place. Hope this helps!

a van has room for 6 students and 2 teachers.how many vans are needed for a total of 48 students and 16 teachers?

Answers

2 vans = 12 students and 4 teachers
4 vans = 24 students and 8 teachers
6 vans = 36 students and 12 teachers
8 vans = 48 students and 16 teachers

Basically saying:
___ x 6 = 48
___ x 2 = 16
Since the answer to both of these equations is 8, then 8 vans are needed to carry 48 students and 16 teachers.

*If you need a better explanation of this process or have any questions or comments, you can ask me at any time, I'd be happy to help!
the answer is 8 students and 8 teachers
