How much of each ingredient would you need to make an identical recipe that serves 18 people? Explain your reasoning

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: Say you needed 2 cups of flour, you would multiply that by 18,
2 X 18 = 36
So basically just multiply every ingredient by 18

78 boxes of dvd, each box has 116 in it. 19 boxes are shipped, how many are left

Answers

I believe 6,844 dvds in total and 59 boxes left

78 - 19 = 59

If you're looking for the number of boxes that are left, its 59, but if you are looking for how many DVDs are left then you would proceed to do:

116 · 59 = 6844

6844 would be the number of DVDs that are left in the remaining boxes.

Kofi estimated that he would run a total of 10 km in 1 h. In 1 h, he actually ran 46 times around a track 0.25 km long, going a total distance of 11.5 km.What was the percent error in Kofi’s estimate? Round to the nearest tenth of a percent, if necessary.

A.
1.5%

B.
5%

C.
13%

D.
23%

Answers

The equation to find percent error is

(actual-theoretical)/(theoretical)*100

where actual is the value that actually came out (in this case, 11.5 km) and theoretical is the value that was supposed to come out (in this case, 10 km).  Just plug in the numbers and simplify.

(actual-theoretical)/(theoretical)*100\n\n(11.5-10)/(10)*100=(1.5)/(10)*100=15\%\ error

So, the true answer would be 15%.  Apparently, the question you're asking takes 11.5 as the theoretical and the 10 as the actual (which I personally disagree with)

If you plugged in the numbers that way, the answer comes out to 13.04%.  So, the correct answer for your answer choices is c. 13%

Which strategies can be used to solve this problem? Kathleen invited 28 people to her party. She plans to seat 8 people at the dining room table. She will put the rest at round tables with 4 people at each table. What is the fewest number of round tables that Kathleen needs so that each guest will have a seat? Choose all answers that are correct. A. Draw a diagram. Eight people at 1 table, 4 people at round table, 4 people at round table, 4 people at round table, 4 people at round table, 4 people at round table. Count the number of round tables. B. Use logical reasoning. Start with 28 people, subtract 8 people who will sit at the dining room table, that leaves 20 people. Keep subtracting 4 people until you get to 0. Count how many times you subtracted 4 people. C. Translate into an equation. 28 – 8 + 4 + 4 = t D. Work backward. There are 28 people coming to the party. There is one dining table, so subtract 1. Now figure out how many round tables there are and subtract that number.

I'm guessing A because 28-8=20 and 20/4=5 round tables needed

Please help!!!Given the length of three sides of a triangle, which is a right triangle?
(1) 10,26,24
(2) 20,12,18
(3) 30,15,26
(4) 40,50,80

And also explain why it is the answer.

Pythagorean Theorem: a^2 + b^2 = c^2
c represents the longest side of the triangle
If the triangle is a right triangle, the Pythagorean theorem will be true.

(1) 10,24,26
10^2 + 24^2 = 676
26^2 = 676
10^2 + 24^2 = 26^2
Right Triangle

(2) 12,18,20
12^2 + 18^2 = 468
20^2 = 400
12^2 + 18^2 \neq 20^2
Not a right triangle

(3) 15,26,30
15^2 + 26^2 = 901
30^2 = 900
15^2 + 26^2 \neq 30^2
Not a right triangle

(4) 40,50,80
40^2 + 50^2 = 4100
80^2 = 6400
40^2+50^2 \neq 80^2
Not a right triangle

#1 is a right triangle
