(n-3)(n-5)what's the equivalent

Answers

Lets expand the expression using the FOIL method
FOIL=First,Outer,Inner,Last

We'd start by multiplying the first numbers in each parenthesis by eachother:

(n-3)(n-5)
n*n=n
²

Now the outer two values...

(n-3)(n-5)
-5n

The inner two values

(n-3)(n-5)
-3n

And the last two values
(n-3)(n-5)
-3*-5=15

Now just put all of the expressions together...

n²-5n-3n+15
simplify
n²-8n+15

Answer=n²-8n+15

With all due respect, I'm guessing that you're fine with the question,
but you could use some help on the answer.  Am I right ?

-- The answer has something to do with the total amount the coach spent,
so we'll need to know that amount.   Let's find it now:

(9 chickens) x ($5 each) = $45 for chicken
(15 burgers) x ($6 each) = $90 for burgers

Total amount he spent:  ($45 + $90) = $135 all together  ( nice coach ! )

What part of it was used for the chickens ?
Remember, he spent  $45  for chickens.

   $45 / $135  =  1/3  =  0.33333....  =   ( 33 and 1/3 ) percent

Now I'm wondering ... it doesn't say anywhere in the problem ...
do you think he gave any of that food to the team ?

(6p + 4q)(-2p + 9q) simplify please help me with this

Answers

(6p + 4q)(-2p + 9q) =\n \n=-2p\cdot 6p + 9q\cdot 6p -2p\cdot 4q + 9q\cdot 4q=\n \n=-12p^(2)+54pq-8pq+36q^2=\n \n =-12p^(2)+46pq +36q^2

Well first you have to multiply using FOIL, so...
-12p² + 54qp -8qp +36q²
-12p² + 46qp + 36q² is the simplified answer
Hope that helps :)
