What reproductive benefits do angiosperms have over mosses? This is for my biology course. It was a question on one of my assessments and I got it completely wrong. Can someone explain it to me so I can at least try to understand it?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: Angiosperms are plants that flowers. In angiosperms, pollen allows sperm to be transported without the aid of water. On the other hand, mosses needs water so their sperm can swim and survive. Angiosperms are more capable of reproducing because the transport is much easier as compared to mosses.
Answer 2
Answer: Angiosperms are flowering plants. To start with, pollen allows the sperm to be transported without water. Mosses need water so their sperm can swim (moss sperm is flagellated), and the sperm can't survive being dried out. In angiosperms, the sperm cells are kept safe inside a pollen grain, and the pollen grain itself can be transported in a variety of different ways (e.g. wind, bees, birds, bats, etc.) The flower itself plays a role here, because it can attract pollinators. After fertilisation, the seed shells protect the embryos (seeds contain baby plants in a kind of dormant state), a secondary endosperm provides the embryo with food, and outside the seeds, you're going to have some kind of fruit. Fruits play an important role because they aid in the distribution of seeds. If a bird eats a berry, for example, there's a good chance that the seed will pass out the other end of the bird somewhere else and sprout into a new plant, or the bird might pick up some berries and drop them or even hide and forget them. Mosses don't have this option.

What two important domains within a riboswitch involve the ligand-binding site?\ What two important domains within a riboswitch involve the ligand-binding site? A site and B site conformation and anticonformation aptamer and expression platform B site and C site alpha and beta

Answers

The correct answer for the question that is being presented above is this one: "conformation and anticonformation." The two important domains within a riboswitch that involve the ligand-binding site are conformation and anticonformation. Riboswitch refers to the regulatory segment of a messenger RNA molecule that binds a small molecule.

Dr. Smith has discovered a bird that he believes is a new species. Dr. Wilson says he will only be convinced if Dr. Smith finds several more of the same type. Why might Dr. Wilson feel this way?

Answers

Answer:

The correct answer is - he wanted to be sure before considering before the bird as a new type if it really represents new species.

Explanation:

Dr. Smith has found the bird that he considered as new species however Dr. Wilson said he will only be convinced if DR. smith could find several members of the same species. Dr. Wilson seems to be sure before considering the bird that Dr. smith found as the new species. It is because he wants to sure if it's not an unusual example of the pre-described species.

Thus, the correct answer is - he wanted to be sure before considering before the bird as a new type if it really represents new species.
