Answer:

Friend 1: Hey, so we finally made it to the end of D-day! How was your first day in college? Mine was all that I had imagined it would be, and more.

Friend 2: It was great! As soon as I entered the lecture hall in the morning, a sea of bright-eyed new faces welcomed me. I'm sure each one of us was feeling the same - a little bit nervous, yet very eager to prove ourselves and looking forward to days away from high school and traditional classrooms. After all, we're real adults now, aren't we?

Friend 1: Oh yes, we are! Feels so much different, as if we're really on our own and need to find our way through. I was so pumped throughout the day. My favourite lecture was the English one - to my delight, Ms. D'Souza started with Shakespeare, and you know how much I enjoy it! I was hanging onto her every word. I'm sure that's one of the subjects I will score high in.

Friend 2: Well, I can't say the same for myself. Shakespeare hasn't always been my cup of tea. I'm more of the laboratory type of guy, hence Chemistry lab was the highlight of my day today. Guess what, we actually worked towards determining the boiling point of a sample on our very first day! I'm sure I need to do a majors in Chemistry in the future. That is my calling.

Friend 1: Come on, we have plenty of time to think about our calling in the coming weeks and months. Our first day of this brand new phase in our lives just got over - doesn't this warrant a celebration of sorts?

Friend 2: It does! To the canteen we go.. kudos to us!

Read the passage from "By the Waters of Babylon.” Nevertheless, we make a beginning. It is not for the metal alone we go to the Dead Places now—there are the books and the writings. They are hard to learn. And the magic tools are broken—but we can look at them and wonder. At least, we make a beginning. And, when I am chief priest we shall go beyond the great river. We shall go to the Place of the Gods—the place newyork—not one man but a company. We shall look for the images of the gods and find the god ASHING and the others—the gods Lincoln and Biltmore and Moses. But they were men who built the city, not gods or demons. They were men. I remember the dead man's face. They were men who were here before us. We must build again. Are propaganda essays written in first-person or third-person

Answers

It does not really matter which form you write in.  However, writing in the third person omniscient is generally more effective for essays.  If you were writing, say, a blog, you would use the first person, but in this case, I think you want to use the third person.
