Answer 1
Answer: Its not actually just one system if you look at it, there are various interdependent system that actually manages every movement of every system in order to maintain homeostasis, plainly every set function is a coordinated body system response. For example, the digestive system digests food because of the enzymes and the cells and organs present in its system but again, this is aided by the different hormones which is part of the endocrine system, interdependently. Thus eventually, the circulatory system is the organ system that intiates in dissemination of the different processed and intially metabolized nutrients in the digestive system and sent throughout the body. Incidentally, also the immune system acts as agent in again many systems to maintain the so-called homeostasis.

squirrels and chipmunks compete for the same food source. what is most likely to happen to the degree of competition between these 2 species if their food became scarce?

Answers

The competition will increase until the population size decreases because of the lowered carrying capacity of the environment. Then it will return to normal competition

Answer:

The correct answer would be increased in the degree of competition for the same food source.

Explanation:

Squirrels and chipmunks already share a common food source and competing for it. So, if the food became scarce there will be an increase in their competition for the food.

Squirrels and chipmunks will fight and display for the food as it is not in enough and there was already competing for the food.

Thus, the correct answer would be increased in the degree of competition for the same food source.

Explain why some scientific theories are changed over time

Answer:

A common misconception is that scientific theories are rudimentary ideas that will eventually graduate into scientific laws when enough data and evidence have been accumulated. A theory does not change into a scientific law with the accumulation of new or better evidence.

Explanation:

As precipitation infiltrates into the subsurface soil, it generally forms an unsaturated zone and a saturated zone. In the unsaturated zone, the voids—that is, the spaces between grains of gravel, sand, silt, clay, and cracks within rocks—contain both air and water. Although a lot of water can be present in the unsaturated zone; why can't this water be pumped by wells?A)
Soils, like clay, absorb water quickly.

B)
Sinkholes collect water above the water table.

C)
Land with no slope lets water runoff at a fast rate.

D)
Water in the soil zone is used by plants in life functions and leaf transpiration, but it also can evaporate directly to the atmosphere.

Answers

Answer:

d

Explanation:

Answer:D) Water in the soil zone is used by plants in life functions and leaf transpiration, but it also can evaporate directly to the atmosphere.

Explanation: Water in the subsurface soil zone is held together by capillary forces. It is also used by plants to carry out their life processes. The soil zone is crisscrossed by roots, openings left by decayed roots, and animal and worm burrows, which allow the precipitation to infiltrate into the soil zone. Water can also evaporate directly into the atmosphere.

What is Clean water act?

The Cuyahoga River in Ohio was so contaminated by industrial pollutants in 1969 that it caught fire.

The historic CLEAN WATER ACT was enacted by Congress in 1972 in response to public outcry about polluted rivers. The historic rule was created to guard against pollution and devastation of all of our waters, from the tiniest streams to the mightiest rivers.

The Clean Water Act has prevented billions of pounds of pollution from entering our rivers and increased the number of streams in the country that meet clean water standards, which has a direct positive impact on drinking water, public health, recreation, and wildlife.

Therefore, Washington has the most waterways that still fail to meet the standards.
