Which action did Walter Rauschenbusch take to gain attention for the social gospel movement on a national level?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:

Rauschenbusch established a foundation based on the concepts of the social gospel.

The foundation or group was called "The Brotherhood of the Kingdom," and was founded in 1892 by Walter Rauschenbusch along with Baptist minister Leighton Williams.  Rauschenbusch was a Baptist ministrer also, and later became a professor of theology at Rochester Theological Seminary in Rochester, New York.   The non-denominational Brotherhood of the Kingdom group involved religious leaders from a variety of Protestant churches. As they started the organization, they asserted:  "The Spirit of God is moving men in our generation toward a better understanding of the idea of the Kingdom of God on earth. Obeying the thought of our Master, and trusting in the power and guidance of the Spirit, we form ourselves into a Brotherhood of the Kingdom, in order to re-establish this idea in the thought of the church, and to assist in its practical realization in the world."  They laid out eight principles for the group's social gospel purpose, which included thoughts such as: "Every member shall by personal life exemplify obedience to the ethics of Jesus," and "Each member shall lay special stress on the social aims of Christianity."

Rauschenbusch did also write books promoting the social gospel, but those came after the Brotherhood of the Kingdom had been established in the 1890s.   Some of Rauschenbusch's books were:

Christianity and the Social Crisis ( 1907)

For God and the People: Prayers of the Social Awakening (1910)

Christianizing the Social Order  (1912)

A Theology for the Social Gospel (1917)

Answer 2
Answer:

The key actions taken by Walter Rauschenbusch to gain attention for the social gospel movement was through his influential writings. Rauschenbusch authored several books that articulated the principles and goals of the movement. His most notable work, "Christianity and the Social Crisis," published in 1907, presented a comprehensive analysis of the social problems faced by American society and proposed a Christian response to these issues.

In this book, Rauschenbusch argued that Christianity should not only focus on individual salvation but also actively engage in transforming society to reflect God's kingdom on earth. His writings resonated with many individuals who were seeking ways to address the pressing social issues of their time.

Rauschenbusch utilized his position as a professor at Rochester Theological Seminary (now Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School) to spread the ideas of the social gospel movement. He taught courses on social ethics and applied theology.

World War II was one of the most significant events of the 1900s and one of the most important events in US history. Think about how much the United States changed between the Great Depression and the postwar era, when the country had become an economic powerhouse. How did World War II influence and change the identity of the United States throughout the 1900s and into the present? What are some positive and negative changes that occurred in the United States in the years after World War II?

Answers

During the great depression, there was a huge number of unemployed and poor people and FDR managed to solve that crisis with the new deal. As he was solving it, world war 2 began and the country had to take part in that war. The United States became the richest country after the war because its economy and industry and infrastructure was not harmed unlike in other countries worldwide so they exported a lot and the standard of living skyrocketed. The country went from a period of extreme poverty to a period of extreme wealth in less than 15 years. This strengthened the idea of the american dream but only for some people. Following the war, the middle class which was predominantly white started getting richer so the minorities started losing more and more power due to the fact that they weren't getting wealthier. Segregation became huge and African-American communities were heavily discriminated against. Also, women were expected to be pretty housewives since the men were earning more than enough for a good life for an entire family. This lasted all the way up to the sixties when the traditional notion of what was good in america became deconstructed.
World War II helped influence the identity of the United States by bringing out the military power and having other countries, the Axis powers, recognizing it as a World power; this was a major threat to the Nazis, Mussolini's Fascist Italy, and Imperial Japan. Positive effects was that declaring war for the US brought the US out of the Great Depression, the war created new jobs for the Unemployed. A negative impact was the war itself; the war caused millions deaths for American GIs

What was a major outcome of the Korean War

Answers

The Korean war was an attempt by the communists to expand their borders & also a test by them of our resolve. Would we back-up our treaty with South Korea? They found out that we would. And a lot of good American soldiers died for no reason. As the individual in a communist society is not very valuable compared to the needs of the state, so the communists lost a large number of unimportant drones while the US lost thousands of important citizens. There were few changes in the geographical lines on the map, no change in the area's power base. The only major outcome was political
