Who were the real rulers of sparta?

Answers

There were two kings that ruled Sparta and this was one of the unique features of Sparta. These two kings belonged to two different royal families. Under normal circumstances, any one of them controlled the army of Sparta. There was also the powerful assembly and the elected council and officials that looked after the needs of the people of Sparta.  The 5 elected euphors had immense power that was unchallengeable and so they also had a certain degree of ruling power over the people of Sparta.

There was the gerousia and the ephors. The gerousia was a group of elders, who had to be at least 60. The ephors we're the actual leaders who shared power with the Spartan King. 5 echoes were elected every year by the people. So there was some forms of democracy in the aristocracy government of Sparta.

Which Native American group is known for having built huge, earthenstructures in the Mississippi River

Answers

Answer:

mound builders

Explanation:

The various cultures collectively termed "Mound Builders" were inhabitants of North America who, during a 5,000-year period, constructed various styles of earthen mounds for religious, ceremonial, burial, and elite residential purposes. These included the pre-Columbian cultures of the Archaic period, Woodland period (Calusa culture Adena and Hopewell cultures), and Mississippian period; dating from roughly 3500 BCE (the construction of Watson Brake) to the 16th century CE, and living in regions of the Great Lakes, the Ohio River Valley, and the Mississippi River valley and its tributary waters.[1]

Since the 19th century, the prevailing scholarly consensus has been that the mounds were constructed by indigenous peoples of the Americas. Sixteenth-century Spanish explorers met natives living in a number of later Mississippian cities, described their cultures, and left artifacts.[2] Research and study of these cultures and peoples has been based mostly on archaeology and anthropology.

What does the word geography mean to you

Answers

I would say that geography represents a science that both studies the natural aspects of how the Earth was formed; it studies the different natural processes that occur almost every day (earthquakes, volcanoes, etc.). At the same time it also studies different aspects of society, what imports and exports do different countries have, which country is rich in what resource and combines both aspects of the available information and tries to integrate all of it to gain a better understanding of our environment :)
To me, the word geography means the physical world of Earth and all it's traits. Water, mountains, islands, everything.
