What is the solution to the system of equations?x + y = 5
x - 2y = 2

(_,_)

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: {  x + y = 5     * ( 2 )
   x - 2y = 2

2 x + 2 y = 10
   x - 2 y = 2
_____________
3 x = 12

x = 12 / 3

x = 4

For y :

x + y = 5

4 + y = 5

y = 5 - 4

y = 1

S = ( 4, 1 )

hope this helps!

Answer 2
Answer: Multiply the second equation by -1 and add them together.

You get 3y=3
So y=1.

If y=1, x+1=5.
So, x=4.

One rate of an equivalent ratio is 9/n. Select two other rates, one that can be solved using equivalent fractions, and the other that can be solved with unit rates

Answers

The values given is not sufficient.
However, the rates could 18/2n or 90/10n

In essence, rate is comparison between ratios.  While ratio is comparison between two or more numbers. Further, ratio on one hand, involves numbers either in amount, size, measurement, degrees, percentages or fractions with the absence of specific unit of measurement. On the contrary, rate is comparing quantities, amounts or unit of events happened expressed in a specific measurement or expressed under time. Take for instance, an example, Joe eats 2 while John eats 4 meals in a day. The ratio can be Joe: John, 2:4 meals. While the rate, is Joe eats 2 meals/day and John 4 meals/day.

Cindy made a triangular shaped sculpture with an area of 63 square inches. The height of the sculpture is 9 inches. What is the base length of the sculpture?

Answers

area=base times height times 1/2
63=area
9=height
63=bsae times 9 times 1/2
multiply both sides by 2 to get rid of 1/2
126=base times 9
divide both sides by 9
14=base

base legnth=14 inches
the base is 14 because 14× 9 = 126 and 126÷2 =63

How do I solve x^2 - 2x - 63 = 0 by completing the square? Like they showed me how here but I'm not sure how this appiles if there's already a c and it doesn't factor into something that can be perfectly squared.

Answers

maybe you can try graphing it if the graph does not have any x-intercepts than it has no real roots

Basically you add a square after the 2x and then another square by the 63. Then, you use (b/2)^2 to put the answer in the square. Take b which is -2 in this case and divide it by 2.  (-2/2= -1), then you square your answer (-1^2= 1). so after doing those calcualtions take the 1 that you got and put it in the first square. For the second square you will put the negative of that number which is -1. Then once you multiply the numbers by what is in the square you'll factor it and get your answer. This is really complicated and you may need to watch a video to get it.

PLEASE HELP ASAP!? Which equations in point-slope form are equations of the line that pass through the points (4, 5) and (−3, −1)?Choose exactly two answers that are correct.
A. y-3 = 7/6 (x-1)
B. y-5 = 6/7 (x-4)
C. y+1 = 6/7 (x +3)
D. y-4 = 7/6 (x-5)

Answers

I am not sure about point slope, but I can find an equation in slope-intercept form and convert it, so
y=mx+b, m=slope
slope=(y1-y2)/(x1-x2)
we have points
(4,5)
(-3,-1)
(x,y)
x1=4
y1=5
x2=-3
y2=-1
subsitute
(5-(-1))/(4-(-3))=(5+1)/(4+3)=6/7
y=6/7+b
sybsitute and solve for b
(4,5)
x=4
y=5
5=6/7(4)+b
5=24/7+b
5=35/7
subtract 24/7 from both sides
11/7=b
y=6/7x+11/7
convert to the point slope form and find equivilent fraction
since the question asks for 2 answers that are correct and only 2 of the equations have slope of 6/7 I can guess that the answers are B and C
point slope form is

y -y1 = m(x - x1)

First, we need to calculate the slope.

Slope = (y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1) = (5-(-1))/(4-(-3)) = (6)/(7)

The slope is 6/7

Next, we plug in both points.

m = 6/7, (x1,y1) = (4,5)

The equation will be:
y - 5 = 6/7 (x - 4)

Plugging in m = 6/7, and (x1,y1) = (-3,-1)

The equation will be
y + 1 = 6/7 (x + 3)

If F(x) = x+ 6 and G(x) = x^4, what is G(F(x))?O
A. A +x+6
B. (X+6)^4
C.x^4+6
D.x^4(x+6)

Answers

ANSWER

B.(x + 6)^(4)

EXPLANATION

The given functions are:

f(x)=x+6

and

g(x)= {x}^(4)

We want to find

g(f(x)) = g(x + 6)

This is the composition of functions, where one function becomes the input of the second function.

We plug in x+6 into the expression for g(x) to obtain,

g(f(x)) = (x + 6)^(4)

The correct answer is B.
