Well there are many things you could discuss here.  Economically Roosevelt instituted many social welfare plans.  He essentially was a democratic socialist and greatly regulated the banks of the United States and set up the Glass-Steagel(unsure of spelling) Act which made it to where a bank essentially was unable to use the money that you put into it for risky investment (it was repealed under Clinton and this was a major factor in the recession of 2008, but I digress).  There was also the FDIC which insured people's money in banks up to 100,000 dollars I think.  It's hard to determine the success of Roosevelt's economic programs though because World War 2 really helped pull the United States out of the Great Depression.
As for the political impact Roosevelt was really the first modern president to gain a lot of control. Now what exactly does this mean? Well before him most of the presidents with the exception of a few such as Lincoln or Andrew Jackson were very weak and Roosevelt was the first President, and this trend continues to today, to really take control of power from Congress even though the framers of the Constitution intended the Legislative branch to be the most powerful.  After Roosevelt the executive branch got much larger thanks to the many bureaucratic programs instituted under him and his alphabet soup administration.  Roosevelt even had the gall to threaten to raise the judicial branch from 9 to 13 judges so that he could more-or-less force his legislation through and not have to worry about the constitutionality of it.
So in short, economically he made the government have much more control and created welfare programs and politically he greatly enhanced the powers of the presidency and the executive branch as a whole. Hope this helps.

According to the graph and what you learned in the lesson, what could the Middle East do to prepare for the predicted increase in water usage? Check all that apply. increase the number of desalination plants engage in conflict for more water rights increase the number of dams decrease the number of desalination plants compromise about water rights

Answers

Answer:

Increase the number of desalination plants.

Compromise about water rights.

Explanation:

These are two strategies that the Middle East could employ to prepare for the predicted increase in water usage. One of the most important and serious problems that the Middle East faces is that of scarcity of water. The Middle East is a very dry region, with little water and a large population. One alternative to cope with this problem would be to increase the number of desalination plants. However, this alternative comes with problems as well. Another strategy would be to compromise about water rights, as this would reduce conflict among different nations and provide more reliable access to water.

To prepare for the predicted increase in water usage, the Middle East could increase the number of desalination plants and decrease the number of dams.

The Middle East is facing a challenging scenario of increasing water usage, which requires careful planning and strategies to address water scarcity. Based on the graph and lessons learned, several measures can be considered:

Increase the Number of Desalination Plants: Desalination, the process of converting seawater into freshwater, can be a viable solution to meet the growing demand for freshwater. By increasing the number of desalination plants, the Middle East can augment its freshwater supply.

Decrease the Number of Dams: Dams, while serving various purposes such as water storage and electricity generation, can also have negative ecological and environmental impacts. Reducing the number of dams or implementing more sustainable water management practices around existing dams can help preserve natural ecosystems.

Engaging in conflicts for water rights is not a desirable solution, as it can lead to instability and exacerbate regional tensions. Instead, compromise and cooperation among nations in the Middle East are essential to effectively manage and share water resources.
