Identify one similarity between between fission and fusion processes.

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:

Nuclear fusion and fission releases tremendous amount of energy using radioactive material as a fuel.

What are the similarity between fusion and fission?

Fusion and fission are similar in that they both release large amounts of energy.

Nuclear fusion is a process in which two nuclei join to form a larger nucleus.

Nuclear fission is a process in which a nucleus splits into two smaller nuclei.

At first sight, it doesn’t make sense that both fission and fusion release energy.

The key is in how tightly the nucleons are held together in a nucleus. If a nuclear reaction produces nuclei that are more tightly bound than the originals, then the excess energy will be released.

It turns out that the most tightly bound atomic nuclei are around the size of iron-56.

Thus, if you split a nucleus that is much larger than iron into smaller fragments, you will release energy because the smaller fragments are at a lower energy than the original nucleus.

If instead you fuse very light nuclei to get bigger products, energy is again released because the nucleons in the products are more tightly bound than in the original nuclei.

to remove a tight-fitting jar, megan runs the lid under hot water. What happends to the jar lid when its temperature increases?

Answers

It expands due to heat and makes it easier to open the jar.

Final answer:

Running the lid of a tight-fitting jar under hot water causes it to expand due to thermal expansion, which makes it easier to remove from the jar.

Explanation:

When the lid of a tight-fitting jar is run under hot water, it undergoes thermal expansion due to the increase in temperature. The expansion of the lid causes it to slightly loosen, making it easier to remove from the jar. This happens because metals have higher coefficients of expansion than glass, so the lid expands more than the jar itself.

The body of every organism is made up of the Genes. Which determines the entire life of our every organism.

What are Genes ?

Genes are actually made up of the DNA. Genes are the functional unit and basic physical unit of the heredity.

Genes generally contains DNA which actually is different for different people but same as their parents which is a unique Physical features.

Hence The body of every organism is made up of the Genes. Which determines the entire life of our every organism.

50 POINTS! Why is the Ocean harder to explore than Outer Space, besides the water pressure? :D

Answers

Going that deep into the water it can get very hot in the submarine  , whether you believe it or not , it also causes problems when you come back to the surface. The gravity is not the same under water as it is on land .

In some parts of the ocean the Carbon levels are really high.

In the ocean there are many unknown species and we do not actually know what is down there or what could attack us.

Although we can make lots of forms of light , down in the ocean it is very dark so we can't see basically anything , unless there is a fish that can glo , in the ocean there are many of those .

Also we do not "yet" have a way for gas of a fan powered sub to run for multiple hours
 ( months or days)

I hope this helps
Based on precise facts, scientists have only studied 1% of the Ocean. Imagine that. Why is this so?

This is on the grounds that investigating the seas is more troublesome than investigating the Moon and space. It's genuinely simple to construct a little spaceship to hold weight. The world is full of water. About 70%. So imagine going deep down into the water and exploring all parts of the globe. Scientists haven't created a good equipment to dive deep down into the ocean.

KE = 0 (because velocity is 0)

PE = mgh = 2kg*9.8m/s^2*40m= 784 joule

2. A 2-kg bowling ball rolls at a speed of 5 m/s on the roof of thebuilding that is 40 tall. Circle one: KE / GPE / both Show your work forfinding the values of each type of energy the object has:

Both
KE = [1/2]m*v^2 = [1/2](2kg)(5m/s)^2 =  25 joul
PE = mgh = 40 joule

3. A 2-kg bowling ball rolls at a speed of 10 m/s on the ground. Circleone: KE / GPE / both Show your work for finding the values of each typeof energy the object has:

KE = [1/2]m(v^2) = [1/2]2kg*(10m/s)^2 = 100 joule

1. A 1,000-kg car has 50,000 joules of kinetic energy. What is its speed?

KE = [1/2]m(v^2) => v = √[2KE/m] = √[2*50,000joules/1000kg] = 10m/s

2. A 200-kg boulder has 39,200 joules of gravitational potential energy. What height is it at?

GPE = mgh => h = GPE / (mg) = 39,200 joules / (200kg * 9.8m/s^2) = 20m

3. A 1-kg model airplane has 12.5 joules of kinetic energy and 98 joulesof gravitational potential energy. What is its speed? What is itsheight?

KE = [1/2]m(v^2) => v = √ [ 2KE/m] = √[2*12.5 j / 1kg] = 7.9 m/s

GPE = mgh => h = GPE/(mg) = 98/(1kg*9.8m/s^2) = 10 m
