What political tensions, suspicions, and conflict of ideologies led to the Cold War?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer: Okay, so the government philosophies of the United States and the Soviet Union could not have been more different. The United States was a democracy which means that its citizens have freedom of speech and have many liberties. The Soviet Union on the other hand was Communist which means that citizens have no rights and the federal government controlled everything. This difference led to a conflict between the two nations on how to rebuild Germany and Berlin after WWll and spearheaded events such as the Berlin Airlift and the building of the Berlin Wall. Back in the United States, Communist was a big no-no and suspicion ran high, especially after Wisconsin Senator Joseph McCarthy claimed he had a list of over 200 government officials who have Communist sympathies. This event was the first time Americans started to have a distrust in the government and later would lead to troubles in the 1960's.

Answer

Charles de Montesquieu philosopher classified governments as republics, monarchies, and despotism.

Explanation

Charles de Montesquieu was a French political philosopher whose main work was to to make sure that he contributed to the major political theory. He also had great ideas of separation of powers. For preventing some branches to be more powerful than the others, his conclusion was that there be separation between the judiciary the executive and the legislature. He had a belief that if these powers were to be united as in the monarchy of Louis XIV it will lead to despotism. He classified government into three categories which are the republic, monarchies and the despotism.

In republic government is where powers of the sovereign country are exercised and vested by the people either directly or through the representatives they have chosen.

In monarchy government this is where power is inherent that is from one member of the family or generation to the others. Most of these governments are ruled by Kings and Queens.

In despotism this is where the rulers or the leaders do not have the full control or they have few rights.
