Why was it important for king to include biblical references

Answers

Okay so in the south in the past, not so much anymore, people were extremely religious. For most african american people, and other slaves, God was their only hope at freedom. For Martin Luther King to include biblical references is like a teacher including a football reference in class to gain respect and followers from all the people listening. It gained hope from all slaves. i dont know if this helps, and you may want to expand a bit more if you understand what i am trying to say.

Read this excerpt from Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave. My Dear Friend:

You remember the old fable of "The Man and the Lion," where the lion complained that he should not be so misrepresented "when the lions wrote history."

I am glad the time has come when the "lions write history." We have been left long enough to gather the character of slavery from the involuntary evidence of the masters. One might, indeed, rest sufficiently satisfied with what, it is evident, must be, in general, the results of such a relation, without seeking farther to find whether they have followed in every instance.

In this portion of the letter, when the writer says it is time for the “lions to write history,” he means:

Slaves can finally tell their stories without punishment.

Slave owners can no longer punish slaves.

The government can no longer pay farmers who use slaves.

The people can mingle freely regardless of color.

advice a friend who respond to conflict by avoidance on why it is not healthy in susbtaining positive relationship

Answers

In advising this friend, explain that avoiding conflict is not healthy because then the conflicts are never resolved. While they may seem to go away in the short-term, it's more like pushing issues under a rug. Eventually, the rug won't be able to cover all these issues, and they'll cause an explosion of emotion that may cause the friend to say or do things that they will regret later on. You could also explain that there's a way to be confrontational without being aggressive, but that communication is necessary to maintain a positive relationship with others.
