Answer:

Answer:

The correct answer is A. The controversies surrounding the 2000 presidential election were that by a 5 to 4 vote, the Supreme Court ordered a stop to the recount in Florida and gave the election to George W. Bush.

Explanation:

The 2000 US presidential election was held on Tuesday, November 7, 2000.

The polls were dominated by the post-election woes of the two main candidates, Democrat Al Gore and Republican George W. Bush, who had to wait for the results of the state of Florida, determinants of the final result, for more than a month. Bush won Florida with 537 votes in advance. These results were contested by the Democratic candidate before the Florida Supreme Court and the United States Supreme Court. The latter considered in Bush v. Gore December 12, 2000 that the recount ordered by the Supreme Court of Florida was unconstitutional by 7 votes to 2 and, by 5 votes against 4, that it was impossible to perform a constitutional recount within the time prescribed by the Constitution of the United State. It canceled the final manual recount of votes still taking place in Miami-Dade County, de facto nominating George W. Bush as the winner of the presidential election. Private recounts conducted in 2001 by a consortium of several US newspapers and the University of Chicago showed that if the specific recount called by Al Gore in the three counties had been successful, it could not have reversed the trend favorable to Bush, while a recount of the entire state of Florida would have championed the democrat Al Gore.

Why was federalism included in the United sates constitution?

Answers

The federalist papers make the case for a federal system in the U.S. This would create a strong central government that is checked by state and local governments. The main idea is that people are inherently fractious and no ones faction should gain complete power.

Also, by allowing different layers of government, people are both involved and also there is a balance of power.

Opposed to the federalism, where people who only wanted states to have power and really no central government. This was refuted by the federalist as causing weakness in countries especially in the foreign affairs.

Based on what you learned so far, what options can you think of to deal with the problem of the number of accidents at intersections?Write down two ways you might solve this problem.

Answers

Answer:

1. Replace the stop signs at intersections with traffic signals. 2. Replace the stop signs at intersections with roundabouts.

Explanation:

To begin I havent saw the content of your currciulum so I do not know if this is something you may have learned

* LANE=ROAD/STREET or what ever you like to call it*

Option One: Replace Intersections all together with round-a-bouts or aka the circular intersection. Round-abouts are far more safer and forgiving, when you go into the intersection you dont have to comit to the move, thus eliminating one of the main reasons people make accidents at intersections: accidently going into an intersection, realizing their mistake, and out of panic crash into other cars trying to get out. As an added bonus round a bouts do not require traffic lights are far mor visually apealing. Furthermore, rounfd abouts eliminate the confusion of traffic lights something that also causes accidents at itersections.

Option two: In America at an intersection, the system works by lanes taking turns of which lane has cars moving into them. This alows for cars to move into lanes with other cars in their blind spot a huge contributor to accidents. A solution to this is changing how the system works. Instead of lanes taking to turns to allow cars to flow into their lane, the lane takes turns letting cars out of their lane. As a result only one lane has cars moving out of it making it much safer by eliminating the blind spot dillema and making the actual lane/road change in the intersection itselft less crowded and safer as a result. However, this sacrifices the speed at the intersection making the process slightly slower.
