In meiosis II what happens during anaphase?

Answers

Answer 1
Answer:

Answer:

Pulling apart or separation of sister chromatids

Explanation:

Meiosis is a type of cell division that results in four daughter cells with each having half number of chromosomes as the parent cell. It is the cell division that leads to formation of gametes to enable sexual reproduction. Division occurs twice during meiosis because before the two halves of a duplicated chromosome called sister chromatids separate, it still needs to separate homologous chromosome, which is a similar but non-identical pair of chromosome received from both parents. Hence, meiosis occurs in a two step division process i.e. Meiosis I and Meiosis II.

Meiosis II is the mitotic division of each of the haploid cells produced in meiosis I. Note that, homologous chromosomes separate in anaphase I of meiosis I, and further undergoes cytokinesis (division of cytoplasm) to produce two haploid (reduced number of chromosomes) daughter cells.

During anaphase of meiosis II, the individual chromosomes (sister chromatids) separate at the centromeres (point of attachment between two sister chromatids). The separated chromosomes are pulled apart towards each pole of the cell by the spindle fibres.

Answer 2
Answer: Meiosis II the chromosomes are pulled to the center of the cell and line up randomly at the equato
Anaphase II the centromere of each chromosome splits -the sister chromatids separate and move to opposite poles

Which of the following statements accurately describes how blood flows through the heart?

Answers

Oxygen-rich blood is carried in the aorta from the left ventricle to the body.

How many types of blood circulation is present?

There are two types of blood circulation:

Pulmonary circulation:

  • It is the pathway in which deoxygenated blood from the right atrium is transferred to the lungs for oxygenation by pulmonary artery.
  • The oxygenated blood through pulmonary vein is poured back into the right atrium.

Systemic circulation:

  • It is the pathway in which oxygenated blood from right ventricle flows through aorta to the rest of the body and is brought back into the right atrium by superior and inferior vena cava.

What are the correct statements?

The correct statements:

  • Oxygen-rich blood is carried in the pulmonary veins from the lungs to the left atrium.
  • Oxygen-rich blood is carried in the aorta from the left ventricle to the body.
  • Oxygen-poor blood is carried through the vena cava to the right atrium.
  • Oxygen-poor blood is carried through the inferior and superior vena cava to the right atrium.

In fruit flies, the allele for red eyes, R, is dominant. Which genotype represents a white-eyed male fruit fly?

Answers

It would be "rr". This is due to the fact that recessive genes, like white-eyed, have to have a genotype with both recessive to show up.

The following choices are given;

A. XrXr. B. XrY. C. XRY D. XRXr

The answer is B. This is because the presence of the Y chromosome determines gender- which is male. In addition, it carries few genes than the X sex chromosome. Therefore, in this case, the X chromosome brings in the receive allele for eye color while the Y chromosome has no corresponding allele.

In most diploid organisms, they are two types of alleles for most genes which each on each set of chromosomes and at the same loci. In most cases, one allele is dominant over the other meaning that its presence masks the effect of the recessive allele.  In the absence of the dominant allele, the recessive allele is expressed . Usually, the recessive gene is disadvantageous to the individual.

Many different species of songbirds migrate into the United States and Canada from Central and South America each summer in order to take advantage of the caterpillars and other insects that hatch in the northern forests during the summer. Over the past several decades songbird populations have been declining. How might a decrease in the number of songbirds be expected to affect the trees in a northern forest?

Answers

The main way in which a decrease in the number of songbirds might be expected to affect the trees in a northern forest is that the would be overrun with more instincts due to a lack or predators.

The trees in the northern hemisphere will be very negatively effected by the declining numbers of the migrating songbirds.

The reason for that is that the songbirds are the predators of the caterpillars. With the declining number of the songbirds, the caterpillars will grow in numbers.

The caterpillars are feeding on the leaves of the trees. As the numbers of the caterpillars grow, they will eat more and more leaves from the trees, thus making huge problems for the trees because they will not be able to properly perform the photosynthesis which is crucial for their survival. The trees will start to get diseased and lot of forests in the Northern Hemisphere will be destroyed.
