Which of the following describes a way in which civilizations that existed between 600 BCE and 600 CE were different from earlier civilizations? A. Asian countries thrived as European civilizations struggled. B. Military conquests spread over a wider range than ever before. C. Trade grew rapidly as the first written languages were introduced. D. Regional interaction declined as countries developed distinct religions.

Answers

I'd say B is the correct answer. Both China and the Roman Empire were huge during their golden ages. Apparently the Chinese knew of the existence of the Romans and thought it was their counterpart. Like Yin and Yang. I think they never really met though. Chinese envoys managed to reach the black sea but didn't get any further.

I deviated from the actual question sorry^^ I think B is correct

Which are accurate descriptions of the reign of Louis XIV? Choose all answers that are correct. A. During his 72-year reign, he claimed the divine right of kings. B. He did all that he could and made sacrifices to help the working people with their everyday struggles. C. He called himself the Sun King because he considered himself as important as the sun itself. D. He created and enforced laws that prohibited persecution for religious beliefs

Answers

Correct answers:

  • A. During his 72-year reign, he claimed the divine right of kings.
  • C. He called himself the Sun King because he considered himself as important as the sun itself.

Details/context:

Louis XIV is a hugely important historical figure.  He was on the throne as king in France from childhood to his old age; he ruled from 1643 to 1715. He was known as the Sun King because all activity in France basically revolved around him.  So much so was that the case, that members of the nobility competed with each other for the right to help the king get dressed in the morning!  It was one of Louis XIV's goals to keep the ranking nobles from being a threat to his power, so he lured them to come live at the glorious Versailles palace with him. That way he could keep them under his influence and away from their lands in the provinces.  They were lavishly entertained, but lost the real power they would have had as lords governing in their provincial lands.

As to the "divine right of kings" idea, that belief was summed up succinctly by Bishop Jacques-Bénigne Bossuet, who was court preacher at the royal court of Louis XIV.  Bossuet said that monarchy "is sacred, it is paternal, it is absolute … the royal throne is not that of a man but the throne of God himself."  The claim of kings' divine right meant their authority could not be challenged because they were put in their office by God and were to be respected as God's sovereign representatives.

During the reign of Louis XIV, A) he claimed the divine right of kings, and C) he called himself the Sun King because he considered himself as important as the sun itself. However, he did not do B or D.

B. It can be dehumanizing for workers.
C. It empowers workers to have independent voices.
D. It is designed to be efficient.

Answers

The correct answer is B. It can be dehumanizing for workers.

Explanation:

Bureaucracy is a type of organization and system used in government, companies or institutions. This is characterized by multiple levels, departments, and sections each with a different function; additionally, in bureaucracy, there is a clear hierarchy and a set of procedures.

This makes everything to be organized and efficient. However, one of the main problems of bureaucracy is that it can be dehumanizing; this can be explained as workers are expected to follow norms and procedures, and this causes they are considered as machines rather than people. Also, in bureaucracy, it is common creativity and similar qualities are not encouraged.

Final answer:

Bureaucracy, though designed for efficiency, can pose issues such as creating a dehumanizing environment for workers due to its emphasis on process and rules over individual considerations. The correct option is B.

C is the answer, unless I'm a dirty liar. They testified most of the time, some claimed the 5th at first, but ultimately it became a case that defined Americans' rights to free speech. If it wasn't illegal to be a communist, then it made no sense to have a trial. So they were found innocent.
Hope that I helped!
